Travelling to India on AP

HI,

I am planning to visit India in Jan.We were checking with our travel agent for flight tickets,

and she said,if I am taking flights other than Air India - Biritish Airways example-I'll need a transit visa,

when we stop over in London.

Any idea why this will be required ?

also when i am travelling is it enough to carry my marriage license and the AP papers.

***Also my passport has my maiden name on it , LATA KARRA and my AP papers,has my husband's surname attached,

LATA KOTAPALLI , so in that case when the travel agent makes a booking for me , on which name should she do it ??

Passport Name or AP papers name ??

PLEASE LET ME KNOW ASAP.

The ticket needs to have the exact name in your passport. People who are not US Citizens need a visa to enter Europe. Bring all paperwork with you.
