I just recently filed for unemployment, it is pending on a telephone interview the first week in December. My question is will our visa interview, this week, be affected by this? I assume they can see that I filed for unemployment? My dad is the co-sponsor, and we will be living with my parents until we can get our finances in order, so I have no major bills.

If anyone has any knowledge of this it would help a great deal. Thank you!

Our timeline-

February 6 2008- Mailed 129f

February 8 2008- 129f was received

February 12 2008- Check was cashed

February 13 2008- Received NOA1 hardcopy

June 20 2008- First touch

June 21 2008- Touch

June 21 2008- Received NOA2 hardcopy

September 17 2008- Touch

September 25 2008- Touch

September 26 2008- Touch

September 27 2008- Received second NOA2 hardcopy (hopefully this time it will actually get sent to NVC)

October 13 2008- Received packet 3

October 15 2008- Sent packet 3

October 29 2008- Packet 4 received

November 28 2008- Interview date

December 4 2008- Visa Received

Why would they have access to a particualar states unemployment records? They cannot even see the federal IRS database.

YMMV

Agreed, they can't see your unemployment stuff. Assuming you filled out the info on the 134 before, then it wouldn't even be on the form. PLUS you have a co-sponsor, so this really wouldn't be a problem unless you didn't have that. I haven't had any employment more than school jobs and the co-sponsor was just fine.
