But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

There is at least one person here who has 'traded up' and did go looking for someone in another country on purpose. And a couple of others I have read posts by that make me scratch my head.

Is it my business? No but I am bored and grouchy lol.

I know most people who do this are not in it for fun and games. But some are and it does bug me. It belittles the whole thing to me.

Marriage and companionship are not something I take lightly and I hate reading where someone does.

When I said multiple K1 I did not mean anyone who does it more than once. I specifically meant someone who looks for a bride in another country and then trades up. I saw one person post something like I am going to meet her but if it does not work out I will find someone else there. It just bugs me when I read stuff like that.

But yeah I could be making assumptions based on what they write I suppose.

Have to add my 2 cents on the topic. Upon reading the title I thought to myself, "yeah, it does kind of piss me off", but after some consideration I found that it's not so much that it pisses me off (it's not my business what others doi) as I find it disheartening. It's hard to think that it could happen to MY relationship. We've seen it happen so many times around here that things just don't (or can't) work out.

Those that literally "trade up" from country to country, yeah that does kind of tork me.

Mulitple K1s in general don't make me angry. Just sad at the thoguht that it could be any of us that couldn't manage the first time. :(

There is at least one person here who has 'traded up' and did go looking for someone in another country on purpose.

One person????? That's it? That's what you are basing your general statements on? VJ has a huge membership and that membership only represents a tiny fraction of total K-1 applicants, and you are generalizing and getting into a wad over ONE PERSON??

And a couple of others I have read posts by that make me scratch my head.LOL-

LOL-Well, that appears to be the "norm" here, so yet again, nothing to boil about there!

Is it my business?

No but I am bored and grouchy lol. Clearly..lol.

I know most people who do this are not in it for fun and games. But some are really? who? and it does bug me. It belittles the whole thing to me.Marriage and companionship are not something I take lightly and I hate reading where someone does.

If K-1 visas and marriage are so serious and important to you built on rock solid foundations-as it is to me-why are you letting ONE insignificant comment from an insignificant source or a couple of comments "bug you" or "belittle" anything? Seems pointless to me. Who cares what they do as long as you stay true to yourself and your own standards?

When I said multiple K1 I did not mean anyone who does it more than once what else does "multiple" mean?.

I specifically meant someone who looks for a bride in another country and then trades up. I saw one person post something like I am going to meet her but if it does not work out I will find someone else there. Oh, who?---Sounds like an interesting thread!

It just bugs me when I read stuff like that. So, tell them on their thread! Maybe your mind will be put at rest by the very people who are bugging you

But yeah I could be making assumptions based on what they write I suppose.

Take a large, almost round, rotating sphere about 8000 miles in diameter, surround it with a murky, viscous atmosphere of gases mixed with water vapor, tilt its axis so it wobbles back and forth with respect to a source of heat and light, freeze it at both ends and roast it in the middle, cover most of its surface with liquid that constantly feeds vapor into the atmosphere as the sphere tosses billions of gallons up and down to the rhythmic pulling of a captive satellite and the sun. Then try to predict the conditions of that atmosphere over a small area within a 5 mile radius for a period of one to five days in advance!

you are totally allowed to be bored and grouchy while you are waiting patiently... (F)

I felt exactly like Jackie did... I would have been annoyed at someone like you...hehehe :hehe:

I used to get mad when K1's would get approval before K3's. I felt than that married people should be done quicker.

I love my K1 friends so don't get your panties in a bunch.

We all have something that ticks us off...hang in there.

I do think K-3s should get priority over K-1s. That never really made any sense to me. "Here's someone whom I really want to marry, but just not yet!" as opposed to "Here's someone I've already married!" I think those that've made the leap should be given priority, and I'm a K-1er! (And before all of you argumentative "it's not that we don't want to get married yet, we just couldn't because... blah, blah, blah... if you really were 100%, you would've jumped in head first, consequences be damned!)

Secondly, those that "trade up" or file multiple K-1s because they're trying to find another one that's better, or they brought her, and I'll say her, because I've seen more than a few posts about "this girl from Russia, or Columbia, or the Philippines" or whatever other poor country with lots of gorgeous women who are willing to marry "rich" men whom they've never met. And since we're on the subject.... why don't you just say that's what really makes you mad? Not the fact that they're filing K-1s and slowing yours down, but the fact that they're "allowed" to do this to those poor women?

Sure, I'm pissed all those K-1 petitions from those dirty old men are slowing down the processing of mine, but I'm not going to complain about it... IMBRA is going to fix it all!

If K3 were faster then there would be shift in the number of couples that opted to get married earlier and file the K3 instead. If K3 had been the faster route, that's what we would have done. We were only unmarried during immigration to take advantage of the shorter wait. We certainly were ready and willing to marry first if that had been a better path for us and we would have actually preferred to marry in her country with her famiily in attendance. The grass is not always greener on the other side of the fence. We made our choices based on our priorities. If the date of the marriage should be the key factor, shouldn't those that have been married longer take their place in line ahead of newlyweds regardless of when they filed? The grass is not always greener on the other side of the fence.

And, if married people should have preference, do you also recommend that those with children or who are pregnant get priority over the childless couple? Then would we see an increase in the number of pregnant applicants? Do those with older children queue ahead of those with younger children?

Rather than complain about the path of others, spend your energy in choosing the correct path for yourself and pursuing your own goals.

It only makes me...not mad...but...curious maybe?

Where people go in to dating sites SPECIFICALLY for one kind of person...like ONLY an asian woman, or ONLY a whatever man...

Like they want some person who's going to fit their stereotype...

yes, yes, yes, but people are still allowed to feel grumpy and frustrated when they are waiting and because we are human....are allowed to feel some self pity that our process, even when we are sure we've picked the right path, is unfair......I guess unless you are perfect and don't get grumpy! ;)
