My first year in the United States, I gained 40 pounds easily as a freshman in college hitting about 140 pounds. My five year in the States I lost about 30 pounds, hitting an all time low of about 90 pounds total from the stress of leaving my husband (then, boyfriend) Immigration is the best diet lol.

I gained weight when I first moved to America but I was six so I don't think that counts. When I lived in Italy I think I lost weight. I most def gained weight in Albania. I ate out every meal or my husband's mom cooked for me. The food is so good and all organic! I walk more in America than in Albania and that didn't help my waistline while abroad.

I'm just not as active here I have found...I used to walk to the town from mine every day to get some shopping...now nothing is in walking distance so we do a big shop every week for all our needs....but i do make hubby park as far away from the shop as possible

Yes! I gained a ton of weight while in Spain for 5 months and then again in Nicaragua for a year. From 135 to almost 150! I always lose it when I come back home to the States. When I got back from Nicaragua I lost it really fast and much more...visa stress...

I lost a lot of weight when I first got to korea. But that was cause my work was a 20 min walk away and then I would walk another 20 mins the other to way to go shopping. SO I put in a good hour to hour and half walking every day.

Then I moved to a new job where the school is just across the street and gained all that weight back.

I have yet to make it to the states for a long time, so I will see how that will effect me

:o Thats weird, I spent 2 1/2 months in J'burg (south africa) and gained a wooping 15lbs. Probably because I had to live in a fortress, and didnt have the liberty of taking walks or enjoying myself outdoors because of the crazy crime!!!
