Is it true that if you file for the AOS with the K1 visa you will generally be transferred to the Service Center for processing, where as if you filed AOS with the K3 visa you will have an interview appointment at your local office?

Its all for LOVE..

not generally... maybe 50/50 chance of approval from K-1 AOS without interview...

K-3 AOS does appear to have a higher instance of interview

YMMV

Well anyways I think that 50/50 chance is still good will speed up the process a little bit. Just my observation on past AOS time lines. I'm just hoping I would get transferred to the Service Center :D Seems it takes lesser time to get the Green Card that way.

I looked at AOS transfers back in June. Here's the post:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...t&p=2046477

I didn't check K1 vs. K3, although I would agree that K1's tend to have a higher instance of transfer. It does seem that recent AOS filings have been getting a higher transfer rate than earlier this year.

Our case was not transferred and Rin had to go interview. Filing to interview was 5 months. Her interview was last week and she was approved for her 10 yr GC.

Best of luck!

John
