OK forgive me if I rant but I've run out of options lol

Last Monday I flew back from a two week trip to England from Heathrow via Toronto to Pittsburgh with Air Canada - somewhere between Toronto and Pittsburgh they lost my luggage. I accept that any airline can and does lose luggage but what I find totally amazing and unbelievable with Air Canada is they have absolutely no Customer Service number.

My luggage was reported lost through the normal channels at the airport and I was told it would arrive next day (silly naive me believed them) next day I started the first of many daily calls to the Air Canada lost luggage line which is actually an Indian outsourced "I'm reading the computer screen" Outfit! On Thursday they said they thought they had a match for my case I identified some of the contents and was told I would have it couriered to me Friday. Friday with no case I ring back and am told they never found it and basically called me a liar saying the previous days call took place.

By now i had tried to trace a customer service number and believe or not there isn't one anywhere even got apologies from Pittsburgh airport saying they wish they had one. India is my only option and they say they have never heard a word back from Toronto airport. I just want to screammmmmmmmmm the luggage contained nothing but memories nothing of value (wedding dress that I had taken to show my mother, photo rolls and other #######)

I cannot believe this level or lack of level of service from an organisation of this size> Even Walmart has a customer service desk and now apart from cry I have no idea what to do!

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

HAL 9000 has flown with Air Canada to Scotland before. I cannot complain about the level of service on board, nor at check-in. Hopefully you will find satisfaction at some point.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

The toll number also routes to India?

OOh new number and I got to speak with a Canadian unfortunately not a CS person and altough he listened his only advice was (wait for it) Ring back India and ask for a supervisor (I already tried this and was told none exist!) or email via the website customer relations (I already did this and got the message it would take 21 days to reply UNLESS it was a lost baggage issue and then it would take 28)

Yes my flight was fine too it isn't that I am complaining about it's just I cannot believe an organisation their size has no human who can speak to their paying customers regarding "issues"

I intentionally selected Air Canada for not only their safety record, but making a profit providing good service, and no hanky panky that is going around with our FAA, I am ashamed of that. Our trip five days ago was excellent and glad they took the time to deice the wings first even though it added an hour to the flight. Our baggage was perfect, and their employees were very curious to us.

Did you say anthing to tee them off?

Nope not that I am aware of lol I Know my luggage arrived Toronto but I had a five hour wait to connect to Pitts so I wonder where it got shuffled to in that time. It's got to be out there in the abyss somewhere just sad that I feel it will never be reunited with me. And the fact that I cannot ask a single question Of an Air Canada employee is unreal and it is that fact which will stop me ever using them again.

Me? Nope... But yes, I know what you mean. Sometimes overworked employees can *snap* at travelers merely for the tone of voice the customer uses. Its inevitable these days. I think they could definitely home in on their apparent lack of a phone customer service, as could pretty much any other airline.

Overall, I've been happy with Air Canada. Their rates don't seem to be too high and they offer a video screen at everyone's seat. It's touch-based and you can watch the movies and TV shows you like, instead of being locked into whatever movie the airline chooses for that flight.

Having said that, Air Canada -- which is government run -- receives very little "at home" competition. There used to be Canadian Airlines, but it was absorbed into Air Canada years ago. Sure, there are American airlines in Canada too, but they can only fly outside the country or to the U.S.; they cannot fly within Canada unless arriving at a Canadian airport. In Canada, the only alternative to Air Canada (that I know of) is West Jet, although they lack some of the amenities Air Canada does, they're late more often, and they travel to far fewer locations. The upside is that West Jet flies only 737s, whereas Air Canada and most other airlines fly different aircraft depending on the location. West Jet also seems to be friendlier.

if you get told that managers don't exist. don't accept that because it's simply not true. tell them that you know they are not allowed to work in a building without someone supervising somewhere in the building and that you will not hang up until your query has been resolved.

Canadians are always curious about Americans. They are always trying to figure out why we are vastly superior!
