on my last flight back from the states an extremely fat woman in a moo moo spent her whole time with her knee in my back on purpose because she was mad that i had my seat reclined. when i complained to the attendant about her behaviour (and her children) she got so mad and went totally crazy, claiming she could not fit in the seat, basically admitting she was obese. i should pay for one seat and be uncomfortable but she should get an extra free seat? wow... that's justice for you. :bonk:

how about she stops eating cheeseburgers?

Maybe you should complain to the airlines about making their darn planes like a sardine can. When I flew to morocco I was uncomfortable for 18 hours period because people reclined their chairs and I was clostraphobic. That didn't matter to them or anyone else. Its terrible the way they pack you in and expect you to be comfortable especially when you are flying for that amount of hours!

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

sister rocks, why do you hate the weight challenged people of america?

she's lucky i didn't kill her and her two horrible children. :innocent:

they threatened to land the plane twice because of her. perhaps i should repeat to you the torrent of abuse she gave me after the attendant had walked away to find me a seat to move to. she was pretty disgusted with my home country and made fun of it and told me to "go home" amongst other things...

OTTAWA (Reuters) – Obese people have the right to two seats for the price of one on flights within Canada, the Supreme Court of Canada ruled on Thursday.

The high court declined to hear an appeal by Canadian airlines of a decision by the Canadian Transportation Agency that people who are "functionally disabled by obesity" deserve to have two seats for one fare.

The airlines had lost an appeal at the Federal Court of Appeal in May and had sought to launch a fresh appeal at the Supreme Court. The court's decision not to hear a new appeal means the one-person-one-fare policy stands.

The appeal had been launched by Air Canada, Air Canada Jazz and WestJet.

can't wait to read about all the skinny people claiming to be obese so they can secure two seats.

YES!

My brain is obese!

If this is real and goes through as policy, then it opens the door for so many more interesting things to come into play.

I am waiting for the day of fairness to arrive.

Silly me.

For example, if your luggage weighs more than what is it 50lbs, then you have to pay a lot to have them checked.

If we had a fair system working then:

me + my luggage = total weight

I'm certain it would be far less than 80% of people.

So there...my vent.

Ahem.

I really don't have a problem with this. They take up two seats anyway, as anyone who has been assigned a seat next to a large passenger can attest to. Might as well assign them that second seat anyway.

There was a (HUGE, loud) lady on this flight I was on between LA and Dallas who I swear belonged in Cargo.......it was the worst flight of my life cuz I was squeezed between her and the window....had I known I woulda BOUGHT that ####### a seat just to have some room. I've never forgotten that flight lol

i don't get it.

I think a gadget is unnecessary. One can recon the waiting area at loading time and pretty much tell who needs that second seat.

This just means that flight costs will increase as the Canadian carriers are losing revenue by having to give two seats for the price of one. Personally, I don't think I should have to pay more for a flight just because certain obese people refuse to eat less. How will an airline determine obesity? Will there be a fat measuring gadget at check-in? I think you are extremely selfish if your lack of willpower puts others at a financial disadvantage.

i don't get it.

An observation:

As USians are getting bigger, airplane seats are getting smaller and allowances for luggage tighter.

And so...

SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZE!

:P

Why?

Maybe seats and aisles should be designed BIGGER!

N'est pas?
