Jamster0105, here are the criteria for the expedite

USCIS Expedite Criteria

All expedite requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis, and are granted at the discretion of the Director. The criteria are as follows:

Severe financial loss to company or individual

Extreme emergent situation

Humanitarian situation

Nonprofit status of requesting organization in furtherance of the cultural and social interests of the United States

Department of Defense of National Interest Situation (Note: Request must come from official United States Government entity and state that delay will be detrimental to our Government)

USCIS error

Compelling interest of USCIS If your case is at a local office at the time you need to make your emergency request, please go to the local office in person to make your request. Please be sure to take all supporting documentation with you.

If your case is at one of our Service Centers or the National Benefits Center, please call customer service at 1-800-375-5283 to receive further instructions on where and how to send your request.

Congressman's office told me this is usually the only time they DO approve someone.

I'm really sorry about your situation Narina, it really sucks that any of us have to even consider these alternatives. I guess I am just tired of hearing about "bailouts" and such on the news, while the average American like you and I just want one thing- to be reunited with our families. I think I am just getting anxious since my wife just passed the halfway point in her pregnancy. I have no problem with the baby being born in the Philippines, as long as it is healthy. It's just more red tape to deal with their government, on top of our own. Oh well, this will all come to pass one day and we'll sit back and laugh at all the ####### we had to go through...maybe lol

Keep your heads up everyone, I know I am doing my best here to do the same. :star:

just spoke to an officer at VSC...very nice lady. I told her how distressing this is getting and she was very calm and comforting. she told me that my files are with an adjudicator and I should be hearing something soon. God knows how soon is that soon will be!

Have faith, if it is with an adjudcator, it will come soon! Instead, have you thought if you want to proceed with the K-3 or the CR1?

If CR1, prepare all the documents at your end so that you are ready to shoot ahead. We decided to go for the "real deal" and already got the NVC no. assigned, and I think early next week, we will start filing more docs.

Thanks Charisma...I guess the events in Mumbai coupled with other things have really taken a toll on me personally. I will definitely pursue the CR1 route and have already started doing a bit of the homework. I have the paperwork ready for the sponsorship forms. I just asked my wife to courier me the police certs and few other things needed for the IV package.

I heard about people getting expedited if their wife is pregnant with their child so that the child could be born in the U.S./some airlines don't allow new borns on the aircraft. I don't know your full story but if you haven't it might be something you want to look into, good luck to you and congrats on the new addition coming to the family.

Hey guys! Another week, another month... No approval for me and my husband.

Although I had my strengh renewed because he spent one week here with me (it was wonderful! ), he went back to the US today so we're back to the same old wait. :(

At least his roomate said he got a letter from the senator (we contacted him before the elections) saying that he (my husband) should call him because he had news about our case. Well, I hope he found out something like: your case is with an adjudcator. This could mean an approval on the way! I really hope to get it by the end of the year. For now is more like a distant dream. But maybe we'll receive good news on monday.

Last congressman update for us: "processing to be completed within the next 30 days, barring any unforseen issues" that will be on the 13th! please please please :)

"you fondle my trigger then you blame my gun"

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!
