 Good afternoon all! I have great news! Finally after 19 months of what I would like to call Immigration hell we are finally done! Here is a brief recap of our story!

We (my husband is the greencard holder and I'm the US citizen) applied for I-485 and EAD back in March of 2007, we received biometrics early and thought everything was going smooth. It took a while to receive his EAD but it was issued on November 6, 2007. So it took nearly 8months along with the EAD we received a letter for our interview which was on December 19, 2007. The interview went great except for something the officer found at the end. My husband is for Palestine but holds a Jordanian passport and his file said he had never registered for NSEERS. To sum that up its a registration process that went into effect after 9/11 for men from certain arab countries. Jordan was one of those countries but because he's not a jordanian citizen he never registered. So long story short we did not get a green card, we were told me would be contacted by ICE so he could register and then we would receive his greencard. So we went home and started the long dreaded WAIT. SO again long story short ICE made it his fault why he didn't register and he was put into Removal Proceedings (something I would not wish on anyone). So after hiring a lawyer and doing some research off to court we went. We went to the first hearing in San Francisco and were give another date for a individual hearing! That hearing was held on October 22, 2008, and to our surprise the judge agreed with US and granted a order for my husband to receive his greencard.......however we had to wait 30 days for a appeal (meaning if the government wanted to appeal the judges decision). And I am writing now to say that Friday was the last day for them to file a appeal and the DID NOT file one!! Alhamdulillah (thank God) and we have a appointment Monday morning at 9 am at immigration in Sacramento so that we can get his Greencard!!! I want to thank everyone for there help and support through this journey. Oh one other thing that was great! Our court date was on October 22 and our 2 year wedding anniversary was on the 24th so we were 2 day early to get the 10 year card but the judge said for all the trouble that we had been put through by the government that she Granted the 10 year Card!! So no more immigration untill its time for Citizenship!!

Well all thanks for listening and hope everyone else has a somewhat smooth immigration ride!!
