I would like to know too....I think the colorized coin depicting Obama with Kennedy in the background is presumptuous. The freaking guy hasn't even been inaugurated yet.

But I can see at least one connection.

Obama may push us to the brink of nuclear war due to his overwhelming inexperience as Kennedy did through his inexperience.

kennedy? where is this?

people buy these. i don't think they are legal tender though, being that they've been covered in gold.

is it so weird that people like to collect things?

Buy a real solid gold coin!!!!!! Either a round or an actual gold coin. It has value!!!!!!! People are amazingly stupid.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

What ticks me off is that when you call to order it then they try to sell you like 300 other things you don't want and you can't get them off the phone.

I mean what the heck am I going to do with 4 American flag lapels, a year's supply of super glue, and 4 cases of oxyclean now?

I hate when happens and all you want to do is buy one thing, but I order them people like me that think this is very special for America and I want to tell my kids and grand kids about it. I have also saved every picture that I have taken of him and posters and anything that I have from the office that I worked and the rallies.

So is a colorized coin commemorating the first black president of the US.....

I collected them for a while, then grew bored. Mags, however, has been grabbing my change - sometimes right out of my pockets - and rabidly searching through the coins looking for quarters we don't have. I reckon the dollar coins are next. And the nickels. lol

I would think that every true sheep would own at least one. I bet they could have sold the entire run of them right here at VJ.

Oh look, someone is STILL bitter.

Anyone want some turtle soup?

Exactly. Nothing more.

Not bitter at all. He's our next President and I will support him and give him the respect he deserves. He worked harder for the job than anyone in history. He put out a phenominal effort to get elected, he won the job fair and square and I sincerely hope his best ideas come to fruition. He has earned that chance with years of hard work. We need to do a 180 on a lot of things that have been going on for the past 8 years. It's time to put some effort into things right here at home.

wow, well i'm glad i'm not alone! maybe it's a girl thing because my other half got tired of collecting them after a while too. ;)

it was fun for me to learn all the different symbols from the different states but now it has planted a seed and i want to collect more. not sure which ones i would do next. i've got a couple of dollar coins already. maybe we should have a competition. got any two dollar bills? :)

We were watching TV the other night and Wes said ....

"Why do all those ads for those mail order things have an address in Connecticut?"

I had never noticed it before. I wonder what the deal is.
