I-130 Application Untouched in Vemont

The Vermont Service Center received our completed I-130 application on March 1, 2006. It was touched on March 4, 2006 and since has remained untouched. Any advice (or empathy!)?

Vermont is still approving I-130's relatively fast, though not as fast as 2005. You are probably not too far off an approval so hang tight. When my hubby subitted the I-130 it was touched 4-5 days in a row and then nothing. We were approved out of the blue in 45 days. Yes you have been waiting longer then those of us from last year but think about it....this is the big one...the immigration visa which will get you the green card with no adjustment of status. At one time these visas where taking years. now 8-9 months is common.

Keep yourself busy. Are you up on what is going to happen through NVC? If not have a look at the CR-1 Flowchart in the 'Guides' tab. And then theres the Time Savers for NVC and James Shortcuts which you can find the link for in my signature. The better you understand this process the quicker ride you can have through NVC, barring any holdups with security checks.

Good luck

Lorelle

aye, very big second to aussie's advice... don't count the touches... as you can see in my sig, our CR-1 wasn't even touched at all between NOA1 and approval. It's completely arbitrary (to us, at least). Definitely make sure you're preparing for the next steps - when you're waiting this long, you don't want to *cause* delay, right? ;) Just keep going, you'll get there. ttyl,

Let me show you how to get your tax returns the easy way

aussiewench's thread for kicking butt in the NVC ('cause i'm too lazy to keep looking it up - haha)

Our DS-3032 email to the NVC

22 May 2006 - Case # Assigned @ NVC

14 Jul 2006 - DS-230 Package Received by USC

We stopped pursuit of CR-1 to pursue K3/AOS. For us, both required the same document, we could only have one valid copy, and the K3 was moving faster.

See profile for the details up to and in between the events listed here.

17 May 2006 - Date NVC says petition shipped to embassy

18 Jul 2006 - Medical

21 Sept 2006 - K3 Interview Date (APPROVED)

27 Sept 2006 - Received Visa

06 Oct 2006 - Arrives in the USA! Finally home together. :)

Our I-130 was touched 3 consecutive days before the approval. Some I-130s (like phirephly's) were not even touched before the approval. So please hang in there and in the meantime, get ready for next steps which would be at the NVC.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview
