You aren't the only one... my man is 14 years younger and I worry a lot because I am dealing with a high fraud consulate. You gotta have faith. Do you guys look like you "go together"? When a couple looks like they fit, it seems to help, but I could be wrong. The only times I have seen problems with older women and younger men, and you will forgive my blunt honesty here, is when the women was extremely unnattractive (I mean EXTREMELY) and the man was gorgeous and then the CO accused the man of using her for a greencard. Again, looks shouldn't matter (my best friend is not very attractive and very overweight and her husband is a gorgeous model and they love each other truly) but it seems that personal opinion of CO's does affect this process, even when it should NOT.

Bug

Actually, it is definitely part of the CO's responsibility to form a personal opinion. Much of the process on the Consulate side is highly subjective. It has to be. I admire your honesty and straight talk though. Sometimes the truth is hard to hear.

Thank you all for the tips.

We may be safe because I'm 47 and he's 41 :)

humm... I don't know how attractive each of us is. I think attractiveness is pretty much subjective/personal opinion. I find Brad Pitt attractive. But one of my friends doesn't find him attractive at all. She likes Obama instead.

I'll post our pic later :)

I am 7 years older than my husband we had no problems. Everyone don't have to look like they fit, look at all the tall models and their short husbands. We all fit  .

My sweetie is six years younger then me....we're not the least bit concerned. Its not a big difference. He's more concerned at me being retired six years sooner then him and being bored! ....not likely!

My husband is 10 years younger than I am. It's never been a problem at all. I've read on here some stories where there might be more scrutiny if the country is high fraud, but most people have had good experiences.

Good luck!

what countries considered highly fraud country?

Looking at many profiles and including my own, if age was a factor it probably would disqualify over half of all VJ'ers. Just thinking about it, if there were criteria for age (other then the obvious, 18 years or older) differences in marriages unions and engagements in other lands, they would also apply for every US Citizen too. Six years, ...........hmmmmmmmmm...your okay!

Age difference can be and often is "a factor" that CO's consider. It is seldom enough of a factor in and of itself to make a difference in a CO's decision about a visa. It is more likely to be a factor in certain cultures where a man almost never marries a significantly older woman. In western cultures, six years is really nothing in either direction. In India or the Middle East, it's often a big deal.

My husband is 13 1/2 years younger than I am and as of 11/23, we have been together 13 years. Other than USCIS screwing things up paperwork-wise and taking forever, we didn't have any problems. The IO did ask why we waited so long to get married, and he just told them that he wasn't ready until recently. No problem

During our interview though, the consul asked how old I was and how old my fiancee was. Then she asked what we have in common. Just be prepared to answer that.

Quick question to a comment posted above in this thread.

What countries are considered to have "high fraud" And is the process alot slower with those countries?

Thanks
