COLUMBUS, Ohio – Two more senior managers at the Ohio agency where computers were used to dig up information about "Joe the Plumber" have been suspended without pay for their roles in the searches, an official at the agency said Friday.

Fred Williams, the Department of Job and Family Services' assistant director, will be placed on two weeks unpaid suspension beginning Monday, spokeswoman Scarlett Bouder said in a statement. Doug Thompson, the department's deputy director of child support, is facing a four-week unpaid suspension, also starting on Monday,

Two other agency employees are facing disciplinary action based on conclusions reached Thursday by Ohio's government watchdog, she said.

The department's director, Helen Jones-Kelley, improperly ordered staff to look up records on Samuel J. Wurzelbacher, the Toledo-area man who became a household name in the final weeks of the presidential campaign, Ohio Inspector General Thomas Charles said in a report.

Gov. Ted Strickland immediately ordered Jones-Kelley be placed on a one-month unpaid suspension after reviewing the report's findings.

Charles' report also outlines roles played by Williams and Thompson in the searches, as well as Paul Fraunholtz, the deputy director of family stability, and Judi Cicatiello, the deputy director of unemployment compensation.

Fraunholtz and Cicatiello will receive written reprimands, and all four employees must undergo ethics training on handling confidential data, Bouder said.

ethics training my #######... tards

Another example of liberals, particulary Obamabots, becoming combative and crossing the line. These people broke the law, not just ethics riles and should do jail time for abusing their power.

At a minimum they should be fired.

Why is it that liberals feel they need to cheat and use all means possible to win an election? It's very frightening behavior that I'm afraid typifies the outrageous behavior of liberal Democrats.

Let's face it these employers were "Gov't workers"

it's clear from polling that Gov't workers tend to favor.... you guessed it, BIG GOV'T (Obama).

I'm sure these folks were so surrounded by like minded people that they actually felt

they were doing a "good thing" by investigating a private citizen.... and it never even dawned on them that someone might object.

I don't see where it is a "prison offense" but a month or two of lost wages is reasonable ... especially if it was a supervisor.

It's rich GOP gestapo to talk about ethics and abuse of power after eight years of Bush-Cheney and Palin's antics up in Alaska.

When Joe, uh, Steve, the rich, uh not so rich, Plumber, uh not licensed, stepped into the spotlight, he opened himself up. Hey, the guy didn't pay his taxes. Shouldn't he have kept his head low. You think?! And then to ask a question ABOUT TAXES?!

Let's face it, Joe the Plumber is an idiot who had way more than the 15 minutes he deserved. It's time for him to shut up or just get the porn film over with.

Yeah, we all know how Bush doesn't like to expand government and surround himself with people who would question him.

Hell, if you'd at least admit they are one and the same it would be at least a little bit less silly.

Good. Anyone should be able to ask the Messiah a question without having their life torn apart. Change.... my a$$.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Exactly what crime is committed by looking up a person on the internet? This is something that is done all the time to learn if a person is real, credit history, judgements, integrity, credentials, and other public information. I do this all the time, even on my immigration attorney, hey this guy wrote several books on immigration, he knows what he is talking about! Can be good or bad.

What interest does Job and Family Services' assistant director have in Joe, not paying child support? Article doesn't say, but yet conclusions are made that I take issue with. Like calling any kind of crook a liberal, I am a liberal, I am for liberty, I am also a conservative in believing in our constitution.

Really cannot have much respect for a person that assumes a crime then calls that person a liberal, would you like to tell that directly to my face? Ha, would just ignore you, don't pay much attention to idiots.

nowhere in the op was it said they looked on the internet. given the guy is from ohio, and the offices are part of the ohio state government, it seems likely to me they were searching the state databases for the guy.

If you want to invade someone's privacy at least have the mental capacity to be able to cover your tracks or not let it look like a witch-hunt. If you put idiots in an office in Ohio, guess what? you end up with idiots in an office in Ohio. Fire the lot of em, hire people who appear to have some intelligence, and move on. I do hate the whole ethics training fiasco though. These people won't learn anything by being shown an hour long video with bad acting followed by a multiple choice question and answer section. Losing their jobs just before the holidays will help them better understand what NOT to do when put in a position of trust.

Wow - if only we held the President and his administration to these standards.
