I've physically been in 23 of the 50 states. However, not all visits have been equal.

The visits I have made to AR, AZ, CA, CO, KS, LA, NM, NV, OK, TX, UT, and WY are the most significant because I went there as an adult and actually spent some time there while traveling by car. Some of those are repeat visits.

I traveled through AL, GA, KY, MS, NC, SC, and TN in my teens with my parents by car, but some of it is a blur of old memories. Too many birthdays ago to remember some of the details of those travels. I haven't been back there since my youth.

And, of course, I have made short stops in airports or stayed overnight in hotels near the airport in IL, NJ, NY, and PA, but didn't really spend any quality time there to count it as a bonafide visit.

And then there are the flyovers, but those don't count at all.

"Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave."

"...for the system to be credible, people actually have to be deported at the end of the process."

I feel lucky and honoured to have visited Alaska (a few times although it has been a while) and Hawai'i (2001-2002).

I have been to many ports of call (sailing) on both coasts.

I have driven through upper U.S. from one side to the other...and up and down.

Lots to see and explore.

Years ago I had a plan to visit all of them at least once. However, since I’ve started traveling internationally and met my SO, guess my plans have been altered a little.

It seems I have only ventured the east coast...DE, FL, GA, MA, MD, NJ, NY, NC, PA, SC, VA

i was looking at the world travellers poll and i found it interesting to see how many different countries people have visited. it made me wonder how many people have visited all of the states in america? i'd like to accomplish that myself one day but who has beat me to it? <img src="http://www.visajourney.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

i wanted to do the poll per state to see which ones are more popular for people to visit but there aren't enough options. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/crying.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":crying:" border="0" alt="crying.gif" />

All except Hawaii, Washington and Oregon. Plus the 7 others Obama says we have but I haven'tfound yet. My work took me to most of them, family visits to maybe 8-10 states.

Does Canada and Mexico count as states too?

Canada does, but not Quebec.
