Hi,

me and my hubby went to interview today.

Everything went well i think, the interviewer was pretty nice, she asked how we met and how long have we been married.

We brought all the document that they asked in the interview letter.

marriage cerf, bank statement , rental agreement, CC bills, utility bills and lots of photos.

But at the end, she asked for marriage abstract? I've never heard of such a thing, she said marriage certificate alone isnt sufficient.

She asked us to mail the abstract in and that was it.

Does that mean we are approved as long as we mail in the document on time?

How long do i have to wait after they receive the document they ask for?

My god, this process is taking forever~

MARRIAGE ABSTRACT - A marriage abstract is a certified document that is used for most U.S. agencies and some foreign countries.

CERTIFIED COPY - A certified copy of a marriage certificate is a copy of the original certificate.

Both can be ordered from the county clerk where you got married.

As far for how long you have to wait to get your GC after they receive it...there is no set time..sorry :(

GOOD LUCK

Yeah, sounds like you took the marriage certificate from the church instead of a government issued certificate.

First of all, thank you for sharing your interview experience... Second, so if I were to take our marriage certificate issued by the City Hall, I assume that would be sufficient...? Or should I go ahead and order a "marriage abstract" before the interview?

Thank you for your input!

thanks everyone~

i guess i just have to mail the abstract in.

i thought marriage certificate is sufficient but appearently the interviewer thought otherwise.

So just to be safe, i would order an abstract before i go to the interview.

Good luck~!
