Hi. I'm from Aruba. We got married in May of this year and we filed for the K3 on June 19th. Now, I was looking at the USCIS processing times for Vermont, and it says they are processing applications (K1 and K3) from March this year!!! This doesn't make sense. A friend of mine from Aruba who filed for a K1 in May this year, got her visa last week. She got the NOA2 in September! How can they say they are processing K1's and K3's from March???? :o

Some days I just want to scream. I don't want to spend my 1 year wedding anniversary in Aruba, I want to be in Orlando by then... :( To be home with my husband is all I want, because right now even though I am 'home', it doesn't feel like home anymore. Although I love my parents and siblings (I moved back home to save money), I want to start my married life already.... :(

I know...patience...but weekends are especially bad...as I'm sure it is for all of us who've been waiting for what seems like ages, to reunite with our spouses...

Saludos,

Bri

It's true...you're really at their mercy. Just try to visit each other alot and stay connected via phone, email, etc. It's gonna be a long wait. We're averaging about 8.5 months right now for K-3's. You can see the spreadsheets, March filers are starting to get approved now, at the end of November.

Well, as it is crazy, i see people getting approved within 1 month, 2 months, 3 months..... :) if your lucky you can get approved very quick. If not, the waiting take 6,7,8, 9 months.... :o

That's a surprise for all of us.

GOOD LUCK

You are not alone.. Almost everybody here is frustrated. All you could do is to vent. Sad to say, we cannot do anything about VSC process. Nobody even knows what's going on inside the service centers. I also cannot understand why K1 is faster than K3 and CR1.. Be strong. Our journey will end soon (hopefully). :innocent:

I promise to love you in good times and in bad, with all I have to give and all that I am, in the only way I know how -- completely and forever......

Immigration law is broken for US citizens. US Citizens have to wait for much much longer than other people such as people who are here on working visa (H1, H2, J, etc...). These people can bring there relatives with them right away, not even more than month...

I hope new government will fix these immigration rule....

its a backlog, they have recieved millions of petitions this past year, also, its not a first come first serve basis, if a friend of yours got an approval and applied after/before/same time as you, he somehow ened up at the top of the bucket, also, hes a K1 filer, which generally takes less amount of time than the K3, if the site is showing both visa's on March, im guessing the K1 area has not been updated.

Ha

I even filed for an expedite and I'm waiting to hear if they are approving that or not. They said within 5 days I should hear. well, it took them 3 days to receive my fax- that was the 14th. Don't count that day so then its the 15th and 16th. then the weekend and then today is a holiday. 5 days turns into 10 days for god's sake.

When they say they are processing applications from March, they mean that there are still a few "in process" for some reason such as needing more information, etc. Your friend's experience is more typical for the easy ones.
