For proof of our engagement all we really have is the receipt from my ring. I got him a silver ring years ago and don't still have the receipt or anything for that. We don't have any pictures or video or anything for proof (from the day of our engagement, we have a lot of pictures just in general) because it wasn't a big to do.. so what other proof can we provide? What did you take to the interview?

Thanks in advance!

I didn't even have the receipt, just pictures of us together that they didn't even ask for or want to see. I was wearing the ring at the interview.

Thanks for your response!

I was also wondering, does your fiance(e) get to come in with you for the interview or are they just allowed in the consulate?

You don't need a ring or receipt as proof of engagement, lots of other stuff like photos, e-mails, plane stubs, etc are proof enough. The Fiancee is allowed in the interview with you. It's not required, but encouraged. The interviewer asked me where mine was LOL

We printed out our phone records for the past three months before the date we sent in our K1 package. Also we printed our emails (blacken the naughty parts) and especially emails about not getting an engagement ring.

At the interview I don't believe I was asked about why I didn't have an engagement ring. If I had been asked, I had the lawyer's bill with me to show the interviewer, "THIS is what we spent the engagement ring on." :P

I don't had it either.. My fiance's mom made an affidavit that the engagement ring stating there is no receipt available and that the ring is a family heriloom.

I took:

--my ring

--the ring receipt

--pictures of when we were engaged

--pictures from our wedding shower, and the emails that flew back and forth arranging for Jerry and his parents to come as a surprise

--"Congratulations on your engagement" messages from family and friends

stuff like that. Not that I had to show it, but I took it in case. :)
