I-130 for my wife has been approved, but not my I-129f. I haven't received the NOA2 in the mail yet. By the time I do get the NOA2 in the mail for the I-130 and NVC receives my I-130 file from VSC, should I wait for the K3 visa or go ahead with the I-130? Which is quicker? Pros/Cons? I don't care if my wife come into the country with permanent resident status or anything, I just want her to be here ASAP .

Thanks for the help in advance, this forum has been very informative.

No clue when or if the I-129F will be approved so impossible to answer your question. It's even possible since the I-130 is already approved, the I-129F will be denied on the grounds there is no longer a pending I-130.

Assuming the 129f gets approved as well, should I continue with the K3 visa, or go the IR1/CR1 route? Which is quicker? As with many of you, I don't care if my wife has to adjust her status once she gets here, or which path is cheaper. I just want her here in the quickest manner.

Thanks.

We can assume it will get approved if you want but without knowing when, we can't tell you which would be faster. Pursue the CR1 and if the I-129F gets approved and forwarded arriving ahead of the CR1 case, fine. K3 needs no "pursuing". If the petition is approved it moves ahead on its own.

Unless it happens in the next couple days though, assuming the I-129F will be approved is folly.

It's hard to tell which will go quicker. When my husband and I started our visa journey, we went with the I-130 because we thought it was faster... but it wasn't. So, we decided to submit the I-129F. Anyway, at some point, the CR-1 application caught up with the K-3, and we ended up going for the CR-1 interview. See my signature below for details.

This was a couple of years ago. I don't know if there have been changes to the whole process (like, I don't know if you can pursue both at the same time the way we did a couple of years back).

Good luck!
