Hello Wonder-Full VJers,

Did you know that a simple act of kindness will raise your serotonin level, hence your happiness quotient goes up?

WOW!

Can we practice this and heal our troubled planet?

Yes.

Yes we can.

Hee, hee.

The Dalai Lama said if we got every single child on the planet at the age of five to meditate one hour a week on compassion, and nothing more, that in one generation we could eliminate violence and war on the planet forever.

I declare: if we, as adults, stopped our stupid intelligence

("there is stupidity,

there is intelligence,

and there is stupid intelligence")

(i.e. using smarts to create things of destruction - atom bombs, etc. - rather than of creations of expressions of love and humanitarianism, and realizing that the only thing we need to concern ourselves with is what is good for the planet rather than just for "our country")

and concentrated on peace and living in bliss....

well..

wow...

what a world this would be.

Mailed request to remove conditions – July 7, 2010

Landed permanent resident approved – August 23rd, 2010

Second funny looking card arrives – August 31st, 2010

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

HHDL is right - if you meditate even 15 minutes a day it helps your outlook. It doesn;t have to be tied to Buddhism, Hinduism or any other 'ism' - just learn to focus on your breath or some other object of concentration and clear your mind. All your thoughts are just that - thoughts. When you learn to push them away and focus on the present moment then you will be much happier.
