I read somewhere on here that NVC told someone that all interviews had been booked for this year - very depressing news to me. We are still in limbo-land waiting for SOME news and the ever elusive reply from my emailed inquiry.

Assuming the delay is being caused by the background check from his years in another country (The Netherlands) - but that was requested at the end of July and according to my MANY calls to NVC, the embassy has all the needed paperwork - but still NO interview date!

Attorney is NO help on this - just making guesses as well.

Questions - Does the DOS REALLY know what is going on over there?

Is there anyway other than email/snail mail to contact the embassy from the states?

What good does it do to contact my state rep on this?

How much does being denied entry as a visitor (5 years ago) affect the K-1?

Who do I need to kill to get this rolling again? AARRGGHHH!

Any and all help VERY MUCH appreciated!!!!

If the file has been forwarded then it is out of NVC's hands as they only schedules immigrant visa interviews... The consulate still shedules "K" interviews itself.

Tourist visa denial has no effect

how long have you been waiting for a reply to your email?

Not long enough! Sent the email on the 15th of this month, rec'd the auto reply same day telling me response time was 3-4 days. Even figuring business only days - was expecting something last thursday.

I know - no patience! But sure feels like our paperwork got "mis - placed" after seeing everyone elses timelines!

it does seem rather odd that they haven't replied to you with an interview date yet, you've been waiting such a long time! i'd wait until next week and see if they reply. maybe people are off sick which is delaying replying to emails, i know i've seen/heard a whole lot of sick people when i've been out anywhere. i hope you hear something soon.

Thanks! He keeps telling me to give it another week too, but nights and weekends are looonnnnggggg!

Current line of thinking is if no reply this week call the local Senators office to see if THEY can talk to a live person at the embassy for me!

Crossing my fingers, toes and eyes now!

DOS has info like if your petition is at the embassy, if you have an interview scheduled, if your visa has been printed...things that have been logged into the Embassy system. I don't know that they will be able to tell you the specific hold up, but everytime I've called them they have been helpful and generous with the information that they have.

good idea.

the number for the department of state is 202-663-1225. i think you need to press 1 and then 0 to speak to someone.

if you give them your lnd number they should be able to tell you if anything has been scheduled (meaning your letter might have got lost in the post) or whether you are still waiting to be scheduled an interview. i'm not sure if they can give you any further information but it would be worth a try to see what they can tell you.

have you heard anything yet?

NADA - If I don't get an email from the consulate tomorrow, I'll call the local Senator's office and see if they can help. I have searched all over the embassy's website as well as travel.gov, uscis, border control - looking for a way to lodge a complaint if neccessary or a way to contact someone...it is unbelievable that you cannot speak to a person without paying by the minute to talk to an operator that has no clue how to help other than give you an email code! What are all the "fees" for? One would think they would cover legitimate inquiries.....Ah well - me thinks I think to much sometimes!
