I was approved on monday (huzzah!) and already stupidly had my flight booked for next wednesday. My visa still hasnt arrived. I called the embassy 'operator assisted' line and the guy was quite rude. He just gave me a row for booking my flight! I called the courier service. Nothing. I called my airline and they wont change my flight. I did a search on here and someone said somthing about a DOS number? whats the DOS?

Its wierd because my fiance called immigration over there, yesterday to organise picking up my shipping (they wouldnt let him pick it up without me having my visa approved. even though it was addressed to him. go figure!) and they have it on thier computer that everythings approved etc.

Im probs panicing for no reason, I have monday and tuesday still for it to arrive. Its just a bit too close for comfort! Has anyone else been in this position? How did it turn out?

Dept of State (202) 663-1225 press 1, then 0

They can tell you when the visa was printed. They won't be able to tell you anything specific about if the courier has it.

Pick the option that says "schedule a pickup" otherwise it's hard to get a person to answer. I called them alot and if you keep on with them, they can find out if your visa is in their possession. They can look it up by address. We didn't even have a receipt number but they were able to find it, call the driver, call me back, etc. Nick's took a week to deliver after the interview. We never got the text msg to tell us when delivery would be, but I found out everything by calling the number. I believe it's just before 8 am that they know what's out for delivery that day. That's when they told me to call back after it didn't come the day they had told me because of the truck breaking down. They said if you call back in the morning, we will give you a one hour window of when it will come.
