A community that honors people based on where they put it is not something to be emulated. That our elected authorities are losing their minds is no reason for the rest of us to lose ours; in fact, it's more reason to fight the insanity.

This is the funny part about gay marriage -- religious people's pre-occupation with how they have sex. Last I checked, how two people #### each other is none of your business anyways, nor the government's. This issue is about them being married and together in a relationship. The irony here is, you and Danno the entire thread have blasted judges, have talked about society this, society that, but never really suggested something reasonable as to why they SHOULDN'T marry, as in, why they cannot have a normal, healthy marriage as any heterosexual couple has the chance to live. But I don't anticipate you can come up with it because I know where both of your beliefs about gay marriage comes from. It's why judges and anyone who has an iota of intelligence about them (and not an agenda) won't listen to claptrap like yours, instead weigh the constitutionality (which does not favor your views here) of barring gays from marriage, independent of pre-disposed beliefs. What you're clearly not happy about is that, in the end, gays will be marrying, like it or not. All of this "fighting" against gay marriage isn't from the sane people at all. It's from paranoid and delusional people who want to define marriage for gay couples by denying them the right of marriage.

Elected officials? Clearly the circuit judge on this case was some weak headed liberal

I do think its highly suspect that no opinion on why gay marriage is "wrong" has really been offered other than how it "doesn't make sense biologically" or that "marriage is defined as between a man and a woman". Both of these arguments rely on a set of assumptions that are clearly derived from religious ideologies - regardless of whether or not those making the criticisms are themselves religiously active.

Which is why judges are left with no option but to declare such restrictions as are put in place as 'unconstitutional' (Not based on any logical notion of 'harm' and restricting personal freedoms).

The reasons for opposition to Gay marriage have been expressed far and wide.

You just dismiss them (which is fine).

The reasons are many, some include the degradation of what "family" means. No one doubts Poly marriage will be on the heals of gay-marriage and again, most people reject this exploratory society.

As you mentioned, the whole gay thing is contrary to what is consistent in nature.

Of course one could bring up the many health problems associated with the Gay-Lifestyle including mental, physical, social. But these are not enough to limit marriage.

Allowing people a certain measure of freedom is essential in a "free society" but giving a stamp of endorsement on Gay marriage is going too far.

Once Gays have this "endorsement" on their life-style, it is only natural that they will impose their view of what are "normal relationships" on everyone and using every law, and means.

Even using the school system with the youngest children to convert them over to their view.

This is not a fear of what *COULD* happen.. it is happening already where Gay marriage is legal.

Geez man - you really need to let this go.

There is BTW nothing substantial to any of those criticisms. How people "feel" about changing social values has absolutely nothing to do with how society WILL change in respect to gay marriage legislation. They are entirely unfounded fears - and the rationale against the gay lifestyle itself is based purely in bigotry.

Call it bigotry if you like but most people reject gay marriage in this country and

opposition of it is far greater around the world.

Is everyone a bigot except this small minority you belong to?

Lets watch it grow, just in this country shall we?

Click on the pic and watch the change happen.

Wanting to interfere in the lives of otherwise law-abiding people over something that does no harm to you or anyone else - and which does not pose any credible threat to our social fabric and which can be accommodated within the existing framework of laws.

Yup - that's bigoted.

I almost posted a link to middle school age material handed out in school, it was full of deviant sex, I was afraid it might somehow violate the TOS here.

What imposition would this be?

Is Danno afraid the homos are going to hit on him or something?

Equal rights for all. Period. That's all it boils down to, bigotry and irrelevant slippery slopes aside.

Danno needs to look at how nearly half of the Prop 8 voters are a small minority in California.

It must be silly math again.

Again, we seem to have an impasse at what is teaching tolerance versus imposing a viewpoint. The only ones doing any imposing are those willing to give their vote to imposing others' rights.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.
