Ok, can't listen to the audio of the above clip but...I just thought that I should mention some things...

First, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints as pictured in the clip encourages the members or "mormons" to voice their desires for president by voting. The church never endorses any presidential candidate..not even Romney. Every able citizen has the right to vote for the laws and candidate that they want. It is the majority of the citizen's votes that decide the outcome not the "mormon" church. As for as marriage goes, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints does not approve of polygamay in any form. This church does not discriminate against homosexuals but they are pro-family. You can't very well give birth to children when there is not a marriage between man and wife.

I might also point out that a long time ago after the death of the prophet Joseph Smith...the church divided and the other sect became know as The Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Don't know their beliefs.

"Whites" need only apply!

I brought this same observation up months ago while debating the gay marriage movement with Fishdude (aka: Number 6, Paul Daniels). It is basically an upper class White liberal movement of the left and right coasts and the gated community crowd in the otherwise flyover zones in-between in the USA. Try as they may to tie it to the Black civil rights movement...that dog don't hunt.

While I don't harbor any hate for homosexuals personally this attempt at cultural parity with the heterosexual mainstream is lame. "Leave it to Beaver" with 2 Ward's or 2 June's is too weird and disgusting to contemplate, but that is the goal. "Heather's Two Mommies" is no figment of the imagination. As far as I'm concerned it is a Lib nightmare most of America wants no part of.

"Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave."

"...for the system to be credible, people actually have to be deported at the end of the process."

Testimony to the House Immigration Subcommittee, February 24, 1995

PRO-FAMILY??? As in which type of family? This is as offensive and arrogant as name-calling. Sorry, but I know many gay and lesbian households who are more loving and caring than heterosexual ones. Your hatred is showing.

It's no secret that homosexuality is stigmatized to higher degree in minority communities, esp. Black & Latino--hence, gay members of these groups are more likely to keep their orientation on the down-low (i.e., not attend public rallies).

Is this not common knowledge?

I think it's an even more pro-family if there's one guy and five women.

One thing that's very clear is people who want to view the world in a traditional mindset ultimately find themselves getting put on the outside of where this country is headed. Tradition only serves as a way of stifling progress. In this case, it's an outdated and clearly biased view of "pro-family". One that has no place in today's society.

I don't think that's true. There are plenty of gay minorities - but as Agnes says there is a greater degree of stigma towards it within those communities, and more broadly - that those communities tend to be more insular anyway.

That said - I suspect that the OP doesn't see the same NYC that I do. He's "been" there at some point in time - I'm there every day of the week (I'm there now in fact).

His logic is faulty anyway - give him a craftily edited video-clip and it seems to rise to the level of objective truth in his mind.

Besides I've yet to understand the objections to gay marriage, or what exactly is threatened by it.

Pretty much all of the arguments that have been presented in objection to it fall into 3 categories: Semantics, Bigotry, or this weird idea that these rights must be awarded by democratic mandate (in which respect the CA vote is now scraping by by the thinnest of margins).
