AOS interview didn't go well

Hello,

So I am very depressed right now  ...

I had my biometrics taken this morning and I am just back from my interview. Everything went well and the officer even wanted to approve our case right away. But while she was going through all the file, she realized that one doc was missing: The med examination record from overseas was missing, the one that went along with other docs in the sealed envelopp given by the Embassy after the K1 visa interview. I gave that envelopp at the POE after my arrival under the K1, and apparently, to approve AOS, they need the original docs that were in the envelopp. Usually they have it with them, but not this time!!! And of course, they had the form I-693 filled out by the US surgeon, but as I took the med examination in France, he didn't make me retake the examination in the US, and so he filled only the vaccination record part...

So the officer told me that if they cannot find the original doc, then I will have to retake a full med examination here... :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying:

Has anybody else been in this case before?? What should I do????

Faustine

My daughter (which was a K-2) came to the U.S. after I was already here, so her AOS was after mine.

At her interview, they could not find her medical report either, and the person that interviewed her told us she had to go consult with a superior. She left and came back about 10 minutes later with good news. She said that it was a "presumption" that the medical exam must have been alright or else my daughter would not have been granted her K-2 visa, and would not have been allowed to enter the U.S. at the POE.

I'm not sure whether my daughter's file has ever been found. She now has her 10-yr GC, and it wasn't an issue at the time we applied.

Hope you can get it all resolved. If not, the worst case scenario would be that you would have to have another medical exam.

Good luck.

Guess you'd best take a new medical exam. A couple of hundred bucks will get you the GC much more quickly than waiting it out.

Hey, thanks for that both of you... I will give it a few days and call them, and if nothing shows up, then I will just go spend another 300 bucks for a new med examination

This sucks!!
