Hi to all

I know it's kind of silly to ask about this :blush: I plan to bring 1 big box of dried mangoes abroad to Nevada, but this is not for selling purposes. I like to give these to my fiance's friends and family. Do you think I will not be confiscated for bringing the goods? If I will be allowed how many kilos only? What should I declare? Please I need your advice to those who have experienced already. Do i need to pay taxes to pay the goods I am bringing? Thank you soo much in advance for your reply :)

as far as i know, fresh fruits, meats, plants, seeds is not allowed. but, it will also depend on the POE. there are some cases that the immigration officer will ask a lot of questions about the food you are bringing. the others are just fine. like me, i bring 2 luggages when i came here. one of my luggage was full of food.... just food. (polvoron, dried fish, hopia, chicharon, some crackers that my aunt like, i forgot what else) you dont have to pay for the tax ;)

goodluck!

Dried Mangoes are not fresh fruit so there should be no problem bringing them into the country. You will only have to pay taxes on them if they are assessed at a high dollar amount. I am not sure how much money they would have to be worth before they would be taxed.

Hello, I brought like 20 packs of dried mangoes but i labeled them with names. I also wrapped it really well (para walang amoy). I also divided them and distributed them in my 2 luggages. Just dont bring too much like 1 sack of dried mangoes as they will surely think ur going to sell them (joke lang). :) Happy trip.

Dried mangoes are OK (I have asked at POE) and they said they are only concerned with fresh fruit.
