Actually I'm more worried about the pricks doing away with the 401K deduction. The Fairness Doctrine doesn't take money out of my pocket. Eliminating the 401K deduction does. And the pricks are looking into eliminating the 401k deduction as we speak. Feedom of speech always takes a backseat to the pocketbook. You wanted change? Here it is. ;)

They're talking about doing away with pre-tax deduction. I think just about everything should be on the table for discussion in terms of how to get this economy back on track. That isn't to say that I support the idea, but it's time to rethink how we are going about doing things.

Correct. In this economy, there is growing and growing unemployment. Not really much of an increase in benefits-eligible jobs at all.

So we #### the people that still do have a job? As I've said all along...misery loves company. Instead of striving for a milkcow of your own...you wish for your neighbor's milkcow to die. Lovely!

"Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave."

"...for the system to be credible, people actually have to be deported at the end of the process."

This is where you typically enter the EPIC FAIL phase, peejay.

Does HAL 9000 state that retirement plan deductions warrant elimination or consideration to do so?

HINT: No. ;)

So we are on the same page. Good! Write your congressman and senator to let them know how you stand. I'm glad you decided to come out of the closet on this issue and take a stand. Otherwise the pricks in congress will do as they please. ;)

I believe the current economical climate will require a more ad hoc approach that is separate of permanent tax deductions.

What a perfect example of how a LIBERAL MIND works!

What other things "should be on the table" to tax our way out of this?

When in doubt...tax the sh*t out of the public and let the politicians decide how to dole it back out for maximum political mileage for themselves. That is how the game is played and how these clowns get way more power than they deserve or actually should possess. Liberals whine about government intrusion on so called civil liberties, but embrace micro-management of the public's lives. Just another horse of a different color.
