Well my exhusband is almost out of business which means my child support is null and void for the time being.

My husband's job sucks bigtime because no one's going out to eat.

My paycheck is getting cut in January.

For Sale signs have doubled just about in my area and at least one of the houses on my street (small street btw) is under foreclosure.

Other than that it's all good.

I'm sure that there will be a lot of old lessons to be learned by the younger people in this country, if not worldwide. We have become a society of excess and tightening the belt is not on many people's agenda. Luckily for most of us on VJ, we have fiancee's or spouses that come from countries that are used to doing with less. We will probably survive better than most but the tough times are coming. This is something that everyone needs to learn.

I was hoping that we would hear about some good things happening throughout the country, but it seems most of the bad stuff is the prevalent theme.

and reinvent new meanings to issues that a post present in order to highjack a thread and make a name for themselves

But like Sister Fracas just told when I apologize to her for a misguided comment that I made attributed to her, she

responded" No embarrassment or apologizes necessary, this is VJ Fart station", or something like that.

So just keep on posting dude. I doubt that you will consider my offer.

Well I drive for Broadway productions and have been real nervous about ticket sales. Obviously if no one comes to a show I'm out of a job. We haven't slowed down. I was told that many people turn to entertainment in times of trouble, but tickets for these shows are steep.

As for me...I haven't missed a beat. I'm actually working a ton of overtime now. The 401K has turned into a 201K and headed for a 101K. Luckily I'm still a decade or more from retirement and can only hope for a rebound by then. Otherwise I'm screwed.

Gas is down to $1.99 in Eastern NC.

Though it is kind of a different issue with our housing prices ect.

We live in a beach town so during these summer months buildings are being thrown up as fast as they can, From what I can tell we're getting a couple more drug stores and at least 3 more shopping centers/strip malls.

Prices around here (aside from gas) havn't gone down, in fact in the last month they flew up. I could buy a gallon of orange juice for 3 dollars, now its 5.50$

A woman I work with is upset because the property she lives on went from a value of $60,000 to $194,000 in the past year, and she doesn't want to pay taxes on it. We're getting about a million Condo's being put up and if you live anywhere near these condos (within 10 miles) your property value is going to increase significantly.

plus rent hasn't gotten any cheaper. A good friend of mine moved out of his apartment because the contract renewed and they bumped up the monthly rent by $300, not including utilities.

So a lesson for everyone, don't live near the beach in NC.
