Hello all, recieved an update on my girlfriends interview in Guangzhou, resulting in a denial. when it came to the question about my x-wife, she asked where does she live ? answer: nearby in same town. her address where she resides ? answer: i don't know - sorry. BAMMMMMMM, WHITE PAPER ! pushbrk, you are correct in your last posting, Oh I didn't think this would be an issue, but a very important issue to them I guess. just comes down to not being as prepared as we thought, now we just bite the bullet, agree that it happens to the best of us and move forward. :(

The GIV 24 asked for your former spouse's address. Did you fail to include it? Was your "girlfriend" unfamiliar with the contents of the GIV 24? I take it you have a recent divorce and perhaps otherwise your case fits a fraud profile. Would she be from Fujian province by chance?

You are in a fiance visa process, so a petitioner in a bona fide relationship would also be past having a "girlfriend". All these things are critical.

What were the earlier questions and answers?

Hello pushbrk, the GIV 24 was filled out correctly, with all the pertaining info, and it was not a recent divorce, it was 5 years ago, all the packet 4 documents were handed to the officer before the interview was conducted, from what I understand, she dropped the ball, when asked what is his x-wifes address, she answered : I don't know. she resides in Heilongjiang province, not Fujian.

If you eventually want a visa for your fiance, you'll need to provide the answers (to an attorney or USCIS and/or here) the answers to the other questions I asked. These cases are evaluated in advance of the interview as well as with the full content of the interview experience. What are the other details of the interview? What other red flag or weak case issues are you aware of in your case?

In other words, the spouse address issue is not likely the whole problem but the last straw. What are the other straws?

pushbrk, I didn't think a previous spouse address was important either, this is what she told me about the questions.

1. Quesetion - where did you meet ?

Answer: We met online dating site.

2. Question - When did you meet ?

Answer: Toward the end of the year 2006 - month November.

3. Question - Has he been to china ?

Answer: Yes

4. Question - how many times ?

Answer: 1 time

5. Question - How many times has he divorced ?

Answer: 2 times

6. Question - His 2nd previous spouse, where does she live ?

Answer: Nearby in same town he resides.

7. Question - what is the address where she lives ?

Answer: I don't know. That was the end of the interview, and was handed the White Paper. It doesn't make sense to me either.

Well, I would see the biggest straw as you not having seen each other in person for 19 months. From China, this tends to look like something other than bona fide. On the other hand, if you have good evidence of frequent communication, there's a good chance a local attorney can turn this around for you. If you choose not to go that route, then an eventual marriage in China and spouse visa filing is probably the only way you'll end up together in the USA. This would require resolving the current case first.

It COULD matter WHICH "dating site" as well. I must say you appear baffled but not particularly distressed. Frankly, you have me thinking your relationship may not be all that bona fide or serious on your part. (girlfried and all etc.) You're not acting like the other guys I've seen who overcame this kind of denial. Complacency won't bring you success in this endeavor.

Frankly pushbrk, we are both very distressed and very disappointed after going through the whole process following all the rules, and providing all the documents, we both are very sad because of this, sorry i don't sound distressed in my replys, but truthfully, I am very much, we have been communicating everyday for 3 years now, and was glad to have the oppurtunity to travel to china for the first time, we travelled to beijing together, climbed the Great Wall, Tianamen Square, and many tours together, along with many photos of us and her family together, I will definetly cherish these times together forever, although many people can afford to make numerous trips abroad, unfortunately i can't, i'm not rich, but i'm not poor either, and with our hard economic times at present, I wish I could. I agree with your advice on going to her home country someday and marry, and go that route which we will continue our communications on that subject. I appreciate all the help you have given for us, very greatfull, Thank you kindly.

Sorry to hear this happening to you on this long journey. I am now worried because i have been married and divorced 4 times. I have included all the necessary paperwork in the I-129f and G325a forms. But as far as actual address not included, hell, i am not even sure as to where my 1st or 2nd x now lives.

Is this a problem for me i need to over come with this process? and if so how?

The GIV24 comes months from now but I suggest you obtain at least your most recent former spouse's address and phone number and even supply your fiance with her SSN. It should be on a tax return. They may want this to verify you're living apart. It's a frequent request.

The GIV 24 was provided with both previous spouses recent addresses and SS numbers, along with both divorce decrees at interview time.

Perhaps this is the straw you seek:

Her Question:

2. Question - When did you meet ?

Answer: Toward the end of the year 2006 - month November.

The actual truth:

yes i was only there 1 time, she answered it correctly. it was in April of last year, first meeting her and her family, i spent 1 month there

Just my thoughts...
