well I for one am pretty discourged to have learned that our president elect has a close family member that has gone against the system and is in this country illegaly and accepts public charge assistance as we common folk go thru the never ending beauacradic maze to bring our loved ones here legally

This is great you posted this! I actually have a letter already typed up to him. I havent filed my K1 visa yet but ever since I decided to do the K1 I have been on this site and read the horror stories of the wait times and how awful some of the interviewers can be at the embassys I decided to write a letter for when my time came. But had no idea of where to send it. Im not waiting until I file in December to mail the letter. Im sending it in this weekend. Thanks for the info and was soooo happy to see that someone else had this in mind. Thanks again..

Thank you for your post. I am writing a letter too. I would also post this for the poor AP people who have been put through additional waiting periods. I am sure they have a few things to tell him too!

It is amazing how I can get a vistor's visa for India in 5 days, but my husband has to wait for his for almost a year. This really sucks. Plus, we are doing the right thing and going through the legal process, while there are millions now in this country that did not.

We wrote to Congressman Foster and Senator Obama to help to expedite our case, they both replied. The aide from the congressman's office was really efficient and helpful, so we didn't follow up with Obama's office. We did receive a second followup letter from Obama's office asking whether we still need their help.

I have been writting to him since he started running about this. I had a feeling if in the very least he didn't get elected he would know there was a problem. Good idea perhaps this should be moved to OT?? I don't know... I know MENA group would be all over this.

Hello Rajaa_Reda, how wonderful you have been writing President Obama and I pray he read at least one of you letters. I pray with a huge amount of letters he has no choice but to read or be told of the problem.

No hoping about it Mohamed, I promise if enough of us write he will listen and thank you so much for the website everything will help. Just think about www.numbersusa they have stopped so many bills due to the amount of fax's and letters sent to congress and individuals in the government. Bless you Len and yes it's well worth the try and please spread the word, we need as many people as we can to write letters. We must be heard and make the Embassy's change their torture practices. One thing is to check to make sure criminals etc don't come to the USA another thing is for them to not allow or extend the time our loved ones are away from us. It's just not fair to hurt people in this way.

I agree Tommy&Rizadiscouraged, we are doing the right thing and we are doing it by the book and being punished for it. We need to change it and we can we just have to unite and be one.
