Check this model. A bit more expensive, but it does have good features for the money. My Wife loves hers!!

Edit to add: Oh, and you can upgrade this model's memory, now or later. The Vistro is apparently an "as is" sale.

Look out for deals next Friday (Black Friday)....not just the Walmart crazy deals that people literally fought over (lol), but Dell too.....

I'm looking out maybe for a new Dell too...but will they even sell em with XP anymore? I have Vista and meh...I really wish I hadn't gotten it with Vista :unsure:

I was talking to a guy this morning that said Microsoft had released XP again. I did a quick search and determined he was ill informed.

Black Friday may have came early this year. I have heard various reports stating the deals are there already.

Yeah, I've been getting emails from them through my employee purchase program.

Hey, I wonder, if I downgraded to XP myself, that would probably void the warranty on the laptop wouldn't it? Sigh...

You may not want the laptop in the eBay link, but keep an eye on his auctions. I've bought from him before, and he ships fast and describes accurately. The HP computers that he's selling are ones that I built/worked on at the HP factory; so they're only a little over a year old, off-lease models.

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

i specifically got a computer with xp on it about 4-6 months ago as i was worried if i waited any longer to purchase xp would no longer be an option.

Yeah, that's exactly when I got mine when XP was still offered and thought "oh hey, lemme try Vista"

I'm researching for a friend. She's a beginner and there's no way her Husband is going to fork out Mac money! I'll be buying one the next time though.

They're going to be either calling in an order or going to a store. How quaint!

What exactly do you want to use this laptop for?

The Husband of my friend is a trucker and she rides with him. More than likely they'll keep tabs on expenses and the like since he owns his own truck. That and entertainment.
