How long does it take for your case # to appear on USCIS?

Our K3 I-129F NOA1 is 11/4, but when I enter the receipt number on the USCIS page, it's not there. Should it take that long to appear or should I be worried? Thanks!

Make sure you enter the number with the letters (if any), no dashes, just the numbers. If it still does not appear I'd give them a call and ask. J.

As long as you have a paper reciept don't worry. There have been alot of people getting approvals in the mail and they have no updates on their internet account with USCIS. Something's wrong with the computers lately, so they are kinda useless anyway.

But if it doesn't work, call the customer service number and maybe they can help you.

Update:

I just called USCIS to see what was going on. I was told that my case number was on file and in process. When I asked why then did it not show up online, I was told that the website is maintained by a third party contractor. The USCIS agent told me that they have no control over it, but any time I need information, not to hesitate to call.

We're early in the process (though it already feels like forever since it took the gov't. of Costa Rica over 4 months to generate our marriage certificate), so I don't expect any real good news for some time :( At least I can fly to see him for under $500, which seems a lot better than most of the VJers.
