Sorry about your situation. What this has to do with immigration ? Is he a permanent resident ? ....

Only you can decide what you should do with your life. I wouldnt spend/waste any second with such a person.

I would get a divorce and move on ... you are free to look for happiness.... life is too short.

That is indeed what I intend to do!

He has his 2 year conditional GC. We were married 10/13/2008.

Oh, S. I am so sorry. You know I heard. And, you know I have been trying to reach out to you. I just wanted to say that I am so sorry. I am here if you want to talk. I know you will when you are ready.

I know what you went through last year and before that with family....it all breaks my heart. You are strong, even if you don't feel like it right now. And you are one of the most beautiful people I know, inside and out. He's stupid. That is his problem not yours. You have to stop helping him now. And, start helping yourself again.

What do you want to do? Can you run away to KC for a while? Do you have someplace to go if you want to move out? That car....is it yours, his, or both of yours? I've been through a divorce....I know how they seperate things. MOST of the things you own were yours to begin with and are yours if you seperate and/or divorce. I agree with what someone else said, start protecting yourself. He wants to be a big man, show him the responsibilities of big men.

Document it all. When it comes time for his LOC, which is just next year, make it impossible for him to do it on his own.

You have been through so much in the last few years (one thing I was asking you about, I went through also. Thank you for all your advice and helpful words. I owe you so much.) You made it through all that cause of the person you are. You ARE strong. You are resourceful. You are smart. You can make it through this. Sadly, yes, it does sound like you need to find someone who appreciates you for all you have to offer. He is out there somewhere. In this matter, you went through it for all the right reasons. You cannot beat yourself up over that.

I will just keep this short and sweet!

I was used for a green card. I am thouroughly convinced of this. We have argued numerous times and it all boils down to this:

1) I am not a normal woman because I want a husband who loves me, appreciates me, makes love to me, spends time with me etc...

2) I asked if I should find someone else to be those things for me and the answer was to do whatever I want...

3) Today when I mentioned I am no longer comfortable living here I was told to get the f*** out, he doesn't care about me...

So, I am done. When he couldn't work, I supported him. He got a job and car and credit cards, I became nothing.

Remindes me of Pam and her duped posts.

What the hell do I do now and how?

I have been in the same boat as you and guess what I call my self a VOF, victim of fraud. I would just try to notify USCIS, and try to move on, but guess what, your ex-will renew the card in 2 years and show good fAITH. THE IMMIFRATION SYSTE SUCKS. but relaz it aint the end of world, consult attorney, most likely file for divorce and move on.

I have been there.

Good Luck

Hello...

I never met your acquaintance but my whole heart goes out to you and the situation you found yourself in.

I am a TRUE believer in Karma!! Though cliche, I've lived long enough to know that "EVERYTHING THAT GOES AROUND, COMES AROUND" without any assistance from us.

Reading the notes from your friends you seem to be a very sweet and loving person. Don't let him taint that part of you.

No worries, my dear.... the universe takes care of its own. Just coming on here to tell your story, makes you one up on him already with your strength. It's like quitting smoking or any addiction... one day at a time!

Mortimer Adler writes:

The purpose of learning is growth, and our minds, unlike our bodies, can continue growing as we continue to live. (and love - added by me  )

Hang in there, get quiet, and listen for your next instructions... you'll be just fine. Bless. Seren

Love at first sight is easy to understand;

it's when two people have been looking at each other for a lifetime that it becomes a miracle.

I suggest you get his name off any joint financial accounts, including credit cards, and get him out of your life as quickly as possible. If you can't afford a lawyer, find one in the legal aid society. Yes, you were used, there is no question about it, and it's a shame. But anyway, he's legally here and there is no way to get revenge, if that's what you hope to do.

Agreed. Name off all cards, make sure you arent paying for anything that he can rack debt up on (eg cell phone) do it quick before he gets wise to you stopping the funding of his lifestyle.

Make sure you keep evidence of anything that he has done that indicates that his reasons for marrying you were less than honest. 2 years will go quickly and there is not a lot you can do now, but when he tries to lift his conditions in two years time, this may be denied if there was anyway of proving his dishonesty....until then, sadly......he'll get to stay and there is no way around it.

If he wants to be in america...let him work for it. Make sure you dont end up paying just because you fell in love with a dishonest person. I'm so sorry to hear you are going through all of this. You deserve all the happiness in the world, dont ever let him feel like has control over that.

Sorry to hear of your troubles, sending you strength and courage.

I agree, do what you have to do to protect yourself financially and if you feel your marriage is over, obtain a lawyer ASAP, seeing as he told you to leave. Even if you can't afford one, sometimes lawyers have free first consultations and can give you a brief overview of your rights/needed actions.

If you feel that you have proof of a MOC, I would get your documentation together and make an INFO pass appointment to have your statement put in his file. It may not make any difference now, but when he goes to lift conditions, possibly, it might trigger closer a closer scrutiny of his 'good faith'.

I called and made an INFO pass appointment for my MOC. The officer reviewed my documentation, told me to go home and put it together in a format that 'may be reviewed in court in the future' and had me bring it back to them. The packet was later accepted during my next appointment and put in my H's file, whether it will have any effect or not, remains to be seen in the future. (I also put a duplicate copy in our file in our divorce proceedings).

I have completed the divorce, but my exH has not tried to lift conditions as of this moment.

I am so sorry to hear about your predicament. I cannot pretend to know what you are going through, but my only advice is to please invest in yourself and what you can do to love you and cherish you. Put yourself first and believe. And please don't ever spend your time regretting doing good, it is never wasted. Stay positive and beautiful. Best Wishes

Love is a gift and not to be earned, therefore one should never hold any regrets for giving love regardless of the outcome...
