Got the papers back from my wife in Thailand with the relevant parts filled in in Thai. I have a question:

Should I send evidence of our relationship in with the I-130 such as photographs of us together, copies of my passports showing the trips corresponding with the photographs? We have been seeing each other since Oct of 2005 but got married this last Sep. so there is not much evidence of

a "bonafide marriage" other than the support I have been giving her and her daughter while she furthers her training as a yoga instructor or can I include a letter explaining our relationship? We had an interview scheduled for August 21st on the fiancee visa but she wanted to forego that and just get married while I was there, which we did. I have all other relevant papers translated into English so that is no problem.

Thanks

I haven't gotten my NOA-2 yet so take my advice with a grain of salt. But it seems to me like the more is better as long as it is well organized and presentable. We sent photographs of us in different situations post and prior to the actual wedding (including with our Thai marriage certificate) in addition to a letter of explanation from me (USC) about our relationship and four notarized affadavits from family/pastor who could speak of our bonafide marriage.

Hope all goes well!

Be sure and notify USCIS and her embassy you are cancelling. Save the evidence of a bona fide marriage for her interview and accumulate MORE during the process. Communication records are important. Make another trip if you can also. Take more pics if you do so.

Pictures are still numero uno!~

Your passport stamps and a few pictures will be sufficient with the petition. I would avoid mention of sending money. That can work against you and doesn't help. It might help to reference your earlier I-129F filing and subsequent decision to go ahead and marry.

Do make sure you have officially withdrawn the original petition.

First, I don't know what you mean by "officially" withdrawn the other application. I emailed the embassy in BKK and informed them we were cancelling the interview at that time and they wrote back thanking me for notifying them and that they would take it off their list. Is there some other procedure for notifying USCIS that we did not go through with the interview? Was notifying the embassy in BKK enough? I want to get the I-130 sent in next week.

I am returning to visit my wife in December for 16 days and we will spend 3-4 days in Korat where most of her family is and I know I will be buying dinner for a bunch of them an, of course, like I always do, I take pictures!!! I make sure I have pics of me with her mom when we see her, got a pic when we all went to dinner in Korat for her daughter's birthday in August that included her dad, oldest brother, one of her aunts, etc. So travelling to see her is always a priority. This will be trip #10 to see her since Oct 2005. She often complains that I take too many pictures....but hey, I feel the same as some of you....the more the better!!!

Thanks for all your help.

Yes, you write a letter to the USCIS service center referencing the names and USCIS case number, asking that the petition be "withdrawn". All you cancelled was and interview at an Embassy and nothing with USCIS.

I think in your shoes, I'd simply include the letter with your I-130 package, perhaps just beneath your I-130 cover letter. If you put it on top, the lockbox folks might get confused. Hard to say.
