You did? I can't remember the process I went through when I moved back in the 90s. I was harrased a lot last year, because I went home I think 8 times (may have been more),but my grandmother was sick. Once at POE the IO told me I had the same story, so I got mad and asked him if he would like me to change it and what he would like me to change it to.

Yeah, I went in October and it was probably about the 5th time this year... maybe 9 or so in the past year..and they gave me a HORRIBLE time.. put the gloves on, dumped out my bags, went thru everything....

and one even said to me "what do you do" and i said "i am a teacher" adn he said "who paid for your ticket"

I was so mad...here I am, married and having to travel for two years to see my husband..and this officer..who is clearly an immigrant himself...was giving me such a horrible time!

Where did you get granted, Yardie? At immigration or did you have to go to the embassy?

I got it at immigration. I had to prove where I was staying...give them a name, address and phone number of who was my "guardian"...basically who would be responsible for me while I was in JA...not sure why as I wasn't a minor or anything but nonetheless. I know I got grilled a bit cause I wasn't staying in the tourist area or a hotel or anything. They wanted to know how I was going to survive in JA for all that time without working.

I had to do that both times that I stayed the summer

Hope everyone has a great week. I only have to work two days this week so I am trying to get some work done. Not really! LOL.

This is about the only time I like working where I do. They are closed as of Wednesday for this week and for Christmas they are closed from the 23 of December to the 5th of January!

Thank you!!! I will tonight because its at home. When I tried to use it they rep told me the only way it could be used is if I took it to an office or ticket counter, closer one to me is in Brooklyn which is 4 hrs away. They wouldn't let me mail it to them.

Lord...I hope that you are talking about the dressing that is prepared from cornbread, celery, stock from boiled turkey necks/giblets, eggs, etc then stuffed into a CLEANED turkey cavity to cook with the bird. I first thought was that you thought the turkey came with the dressing already inside of it. EWWW...then my mind went to the nastiness that has to come out of the turkey prior to cooking it. Yeah...my dressing will never be stuffed inside of a turkey.
