I was wondering about this last night - I was hoping that wouldn't be the kind of lawyer you got, but sounds like just what the insurance companies like. Sorry Sus. But like you said - it's over.

Very true - But I have sat through many depositions before - and never ever have I seen such a nasty attorney in a case like this - She's trying to paint me as a wanna be lawyer, and that I have seen others get rich and so now I am trying to - Sorry, I would take my life back ANYDAY over ANY amount of money!

Sus, that sickens me...while reading that it felt like someone punched me in my stomach. I know how you feel, the lawyer also tried to make me out to be a money hungry ###### we had to stop several times, because I got up and walked out the room.

Does your lawyer prepare you for the questions like they do on TV?

Yes, we went over things several times, but I was just so hurt from the way the legal team from the insurance company and for the personal attorney for the guy that hit me was talking to me. I wanted to jump across the table and kick out their teeths. They asked me questions about my financial background and how I paid for my house, am I in debt, the list went on and on. I'm feeling sick now.

Yes, Wakey - your lawyer prepares you - They don't know exactly what will be asked, but they give you a general overview of how to answer things, and hints to pick up from them if they don't like the way the question is asked -

Lawny, I agree totally - The best was when she was heading into my educational background, and I said I was doing my MS - she asked in what, then why that and what I wanted to do with the degree - I replied that I don't know what I want to do with the degree - I just knew that I wanted to continue on beyond my education, and didn't want to go to law school - She asked if I had taken the LSATs, so I said yes - and she asked if my score was why I decided not to go - I said no - Then she asked what my score was, so I told her - Her jaw dropped, and she asked why I wouldn't go to law school with a score like that - I told her bc I decided that I never would want to be a lawyer!

sometimes they win because for some reason or the other their nastiness conveys mistrust and cynicism and people are alot more cynical these days due to the time we are in.the first thing those people try to convey is that people are trying to get something from someone but sus your heart is clear and that's most important.

Thank you, Jakeswife - But that's not always true - especially in a jury trial - I have worked on many many many trials - One of the biggest things that comes across when you poll the jury at the end is how they felt about the lawyer - If they get a nasty vibe from a lawyer, or take a dislike to them, it can seriously skew your case.

That was another thing she tried to nail me on - bc I used to work for my attorneys - I told her that if you are sick, you go to a dr. you trust - why would I not go to someone I trust over someone I picked outta the phonebook?

Sus, the questions they asked are ridiculous! I'm not sure if they dug up your family's history too. They wanted to know about my family and I got pissed and said what the hell does that have to do with anything.

i know exactly how u feel. like i said in a earlier post, this process is a rollercoaster ride. i know if i didn't have an interview date in dec-my favourite month of the year. i would be a wreck. i am nervous but i am hoping it doesn't shine through during the interview.

Don't worry - no jury will ever buy that story and will in turn, hate her for trying to make you look that way. Let her keep working on that nasty path and see what happens...

sometimes they win because for some reason or the other their nastiness conveys mistrust and cynicism and people are alot more cynical these days due to the time we are in.the first thing those people try to convey is that people are trying to get something from someone but sus your heart is clear and that's most important.

yeah but if I were on the jury my first thought would be regardless of intentions if this man had not done something wrong he would not be sitting here plus a life has been lost that is what matters....such BS :ranting: I hate how people manipulate the system.

Opportunities are like sunrises - if you wait too long, you miss them.

Amen Lita, and if ur not strong u quickly ca n lose what u fought so hard for

Gilli..how Kenny (do no tell him mi call h im so :)) and job ting

Mawning family,

Kenny (hehe) is alright. He is working at a club on Friday/Saturday nights doing coat check/bartending. Girl, I love the stories he comes home with! How Girls leave there numbers for him (in their coats or write it on the tips they give him! ). I just laugh, cause I know my Boo and that ain't his style. "Dem likkle pickney gal dem cyan't duh nuttin' fuh mi right ya now!"

He is such a worker ant...that it's been hard on him. I never met a man that LOVES to work! But he does. My family LOVES him. They are all finding little odd jobs to do around their houses, cause they know Ken's not down with handouts. So my one Aunt had him pack a barrel for her. Another had him paint her house, another had him put up some windows for her...I'm blessed to have them.

I know his self-esteem was suffering the last few months...b/c you know how Yard men stay they have to feel like they are contributing. I just kept telling him...no worries...we are in this together and hey I am the real reason you can't work right now...I should have filed your AOS/EAD/AP sooner. So he knows there is more than enough blame to go around...so don't try to hog it all !

I think the realism of America not being as 'easy' as he once thought is also starting to hit home. Like we always say there are somethings that no matter how much you try to explain to them...they HAVE to see & FEEL it for themselves.

No lie...life is hard...but we are FINALLY together, so it make it all worthwhile...and we know "this too shall pass!" As Kenny says "Not hevery day deh sea will be rough...one day it haffi calm!" And I am still happy as a clam to have my Kenny here ...finally!! :luv:

Bless-ed,

Gill

Ohhh. I'm sorry it went that way. I'm wondering how my case will go. I'm suing a birthcontrol maker for amost dying last year from using. My lawyer sent me a 24 page document I have to complete on my past 10years of medical history. They want to know every prescription I've been on ever doctor I've seen, etc.

Sounds like you got some discovery! Good luck, Wakey. Sorry you had such troubles last year.
