MrsP...I have about a month and a half left until I start my countdown. Then me and Lance will be 2 months behind you and Belly...what a ways we have to go :crying:

Good luck to you and Lance girl. I will definitely be praying for a swift journey for you two! It's just so freaking nerve-wracking it's ridiculous! :bonk: Hopefully, God willing, they will be here with us before the end of '09.

Roxie, I'm doing the same thing. I got part of the payment last week, but please be careful and meet with these people. My house is empty and I'm renting to a large family for 5 days. They have other activities to tend to that week in D.C. They have family driving in from all over the place. It's going to be a crazy week and I'm so glad I'm off January 20th. A lot of my friends and co-workers are also doing the same. Some people are being so greedy. The family was referred to me by one of my co-workers and some of the deal they were getting were outrageous.

I love taking care of people and I love the response I get. I wish I had stuck it out when I started in 1987. Always wanted to be an L&D nurse or NICU...okay, I'm going to cry now (fram your inspiring story)....so, I was right, but u still a madooman.

Very true. Not all nurses are made to be nurses. Those who are truly caring and nuturing, stand out like a beacon of light! My younger sis is like that. Sometimes I worry about her though, cause she gets very emotionally involved and it takes a toll on her an she is only 19 and has yet to see much in the way of her career. But I know this is Gods calling for her and she is such a blessing to her patients.

Tre, I have had request from AKA Sorority members, and from people I have had the pleasure of doing business with. So, I will have some connections with these individuals.

The only thing I will be concern with will be my art work, but I will be removing them too. I am only 4 subway on the green line from downtown.

Its true that not everyone is cut out for certain careers. When I was young I always wanted to be a pediatrician (my reason was because I love kids) My first year of college I shadowed a doctor at the local hospital. They were doing a routine procedure with the patient and as I watched the nurse start drawing blood I ran for the nearest bathroom.

I'm a teacher now :star:

What was your dream career as a child or even in high school/college? Is it what you do now?

Roxie go for it then. You and I are both offering housing. My friends are renting condos or apartments at getting $5,000 for 2 days, but they're downtown. This family didn't want to be downtown, so it worked out fine.

This is my goal too...Actually, I was hoping to have him here on our anniversary...Oct 15...but if that's pushing it, then I will settle for Thanksgiving...now THAT is going to be a hoot! :lol:

Yes its what I do, but now I want to do something else. I'm in architecture and design, and working in the field makes it hard for me to enjoy it. I think I need to change careers.

Marie, Fredericksburg, Va is about 1 to 2 hrs away from DC. Since traffic will be bad that day, they are looking at a 2 to 3 hrs bus ride to DC.

marie, i have sat if traffic as long as 5 to 8 hours just to get to Fredericksburg, VA one Thanksgiving weekend. It was awful.
