I think this is it. I hope I copied it the right way

TANKS...

Claire, can I ask you something, why did you become a nurse? Mi a get a mad vibe fram u...fram lang time

Yuh mean to tell me say the vibe yuh a get is dat me mad???? :bonk:

From the time I was growing up I always loved taking care of people. I am always the go to person, so I think it came naturally. I love the feeling I get at the end of the day when I know that I have made a difference in someone's life no matter how tired and worn out I feel. When the families tell you how they appreciate you taking care of their loved ones. I took care of a 36 yo woman who had a hysterectomy and ended up with a perforated bowel and had to have extensive surgery and a colostomy. I took care of her and we kinda bonded and she went up to the floor got ill and was transferred back to the ICU and I was assigned to her again. I worked very hard with her and made an extra effort and when she wanted to give up I pushed her real hard. She had many complications but we all worked hard with her and she was eventually sent home. A couple of weeks ago I was at lunch and here she came looking for me and did not find me on the unit and was told I was at lunch. she came to the cafeteria looking for me. She gave me an angel and told everyone that was there that I was her angel and if it was not for me she did not think she would have survived. She talked about the other nurses but remarked that I was special to her. we all just busted out bawling in the cafeteria. That really made my day and I was walking around on clouds for the rest of the day. I hope this inspires you but let me remind you, it is hard work and there are going to be days when you just want to quit out of fraustration and encounter some very ungrateful people, but it is all worth it in the end.

Ask Morant, she should know also. I love what I do and I could be making mad money if I was still in NY but the madness of NY is not worth the big bucks.

Hey KK, did I not read that you'll will not be off for the inaugration on the 20th of January. It it because most of the employees live north of the Washington DC. The 395 beltway will be closed off on that day. The Marc trains and subways will be packed with out of towners.

I am thinking about putting my whole house up for rent for that week. I live close to one of the major subway stops and 45 mins from DC. I have 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths 2 half baths and a den. I could probably get about 4000, for renting it for that week.

I love taking care of people and I love the response I get. I wish I had stuck it out when I started in 1987. Always wanted to be an L&D nurse or NICU...okay, I'm going to cry now (fram your inspiring story)....so, I was right, but u still a madooman.

It's brownstew fish and rice w/veggies that's all. The fish just winked at me, you still want some?

:lol:That's so funny! I used to freak out when my husband used to fix my plate wid fish head still on. Now, I'm just like.."whatever"...I don't eat the head, but it doesn't bother me anymore when it's staring at me. I just pass it on to him. Sounds good though...I'm jealous...I've got some tin ackee and callalloo and festival mix and yam at home. I think I'm gonna try to fix something up on Monday...need to "practice" first, which is why I can't do it on a week night, plus I'm going out of town this weekend or I would do it on Sat. If I mess it up, I'm going to need to have time to recover and fix something else!

I wore some wide leg cuffed pants to work today. I just went outside for a quick second and FELL!! My high heel was caught in the cuff. My knees, hips, and hands are stinging now from the fall.

Enjoy the laugh!

Wakey girl,

I had to learn that the hard way after amost busting my head to the white meat when I my heel got caught in my cuff when I was walking down the steps outside my house. Thanks God for the railings because I would have hit the ground head first.

 I've done this before too! Tripped in the cuff. I always catch myself though. I am really clumsy though. I mean REALLY clumsy. I used to bust my lip about 3 times a month when I was little. Either I trip and fall, walk into a wall, pust something upside my face, bite my lip.....ALWAYS ended up with a busted lip. Everybody say thats why my lips are so big....they're permanantly swollen...HAHA!!

Marie, I am seriously thinking about it. I could get between 4000-7000 for the rental of it for that week. I would rent beds to put in place of the existing beds that i have in the rooms room. I wouldn't want peoples sleeping on my own persoanl beds.
