Hi VJ peeps...It's been a while!

Work is good, life is good....I've stated to date finally, and among a few good men, lol, I met someone that I'm really enamored with, but it's early days yet so we'll see what happens...D has also met someone and he's happy too....we're v good friends and we even give each other advice, lol. All the bs and the pain and the static between us is gone! It's like a giant weight off my shoulders really.

Im rushed off my feet at work, things are v busy, which is good for commission based paychecks, lol.

I'm still working the second job at the salon, and although I love it, I think it's time to let that go. I took that job for group health for me and D, and now that he's not here, there's no reason I can't switch back to just keeping my private ins policy for myself, which luckily I still kept.

I have dyed my hair relaly dark and I love it...I've shed some weight which I gained while everything was turning to ####### last year. I feel fantastic! It's like I'm a completely different person... As much as I've changed on the outside, I've done even more changing on the inside...I feel stronger, more self reliant, no longer codependent, I'm totally happy within myself and I feel quite fulfilled. It's amazing! I feel like playing 'here comes the sun' by nina simone every single day, lol.

So, all in all, a very good report for you guys....hope everyone is doing well!

Ill be honest with you guys...this has been one of the hardest years of my life...the split with D was one of the worst things I've ever lived thru, and it really turned my whole world upside down. I truly couldn't see the light at the end of the tunnel...people would say 'chin up, it's get better' and whatnot, and I just didn't believe them. This was the first split in my life where I truly didn't want things to end, so it was so hard, and made me lose so much faith in myself, and I lost joy and hope for my future. I became jaded and cynical, and things were very dark this year.

I think I lost the weight purely in the amount of tears I shed, lol.

I'm not saying this for accolades; I share this with you all today because I am simply amazed at how life can change for the better on a dime... Its truly spectacular, and waking up everyday is just such a wonderful feeling cos the day is filled with joy again. It's not cos of this new guy...lol, ok maybe a little, but the secret I learned, which I was prolly slow on the uptake to begin with, is that people come and people go, but it's up to me to be happy, and now I feel I can do that no matter what. My happiness doesn't come from the affections of someone, it comes from within. And putting up walls to protect yourself sucks, cos in the end, sure, life is filled with hurt and bs, but eh, we suck it up and live to fight another day ;)

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Deano, I think the trick is to be smart enough to identify when something has run its course....and then courageous enough to do something about it.

My fave new quote:

One does not discover new lands without consenting to lose sight of the shore for a very long time. ~André Gide

Ok I'll shut up now with all my new enlightenment lolz...
