I don't' recall hearing of them keeping passports before. They usually ask for it when they are ready to issue the visa and return it same day. Hopefully someone that has had their passport kept can tell you what that is all about. As for waiting for the visa itself, 3 weeks is not that long to wait for morocco. We waited 3 months. Not the usual, but not unheard of.

Yeah I agree if they have kept your passport for 3 weeks I suggest calling and asking what is happening. Typically AP lasts that long but not "keeping your passport"

Didn't they tell someone they were getting the visa and kept their passport for like 3-4 months once. I can't remember who that was but that's the longest I've heard of keeping the passport. Sometimes passports get shipped to the wrong address. That may have happened too.

Either way it sounds like you got your visa! Congrats!

The 'norm' in Morocco is for them to call you to bring your passport, you drop it off and pick it up same day with the visa in it. Not that it has never happened, but Morocco generally does not mail out passports. (now watch 10 people post behind me that they were the exception!) Rajaa had a good idea to try and get some info out of them.
