waking during surgery really must be the most horrifying experience. Well, that and waking up and realizing you are trapped in a box underground with no room to move and only a straw for air (my worst fear following seeing it on a film). I would definitely sue, the pain must be excruciating, not to mention the lasting psychological effects.

my experience wasn't quite the same ..

I was given an epidural and I could feel my feet tingling etc so I thought it was working and just as the doctor was starting I felt an excruciating pain and asked "is that supposed to feel like that??" and they said no and the anesthesiologist quickly gave me something and the next thing I know they were waking me up after they were finished...

the epidural or the surgery..??

for me the epidural didn't hurt that much.. I was totally freaking out though because I am terrified of the feeling of being constrained and not being able to move.. I am kind of glad the epidural didn't work and that they had to knock me out instead...
