Hi There

I have been around this forum for several years and posted sparingly. Mainly because I never thought it wise to advise anyone going through this journey as there are better folks online here than I for that and more able to support those who needed it than me. I might also have advised wrong.

However to day I finally received my so called 'Welcome to America' Letter and I have been approved for my green card.

For me this started in 2003. I was refused a k3 visa from the London embassey because of moral turpitude whatever the hell that really is and I had to get a visa waiver. I arrived in the USA in 2004 applied for AOS in July 2004. So folks that for me was a journey of over four years to become approved.

I hope that those of you starting this journey have a speedier resolution to your application than I did. I really wish you all well. For I know the frustration and dashed hope time and time again.

The first thing I am going to do when the card arrives is book a holliday to Scotland my home country. Why... cos I have not been there since I left and not seen my aged parents since. I know all about advanced parole. I never chose that route because to my mind it was like being allowed to leave prison for a few days.

So to you all still waiting, I give you my best wishes.

Regards

Journey's End

We're very happy for you...congratulations!!!!!

"Have faith in God, Jesus answered. I'll tell you the truth. if anyone says to this mountain, Go, throw yourself to the sea, and that does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen. it will be done for him. Therefore I'll tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours" (MARK 11:22-24)

I dont really know why it took so long it just did. I am not a heavy duty criminal just stole a pound of sausage when I was 18 cos I was starving and got caught.

I filed in Seattle and my case went straight to Nebraska and into that black hole of nothingness called name check and there I sat for years.

I called the homeland security in Feb this year and was told that I was out of name check and that to expect my approval letter soon. It never arrived until today so I guess this is what passes for soon with homeland security LOL I called them once again two months ago and was informed that my papers were now back in Seattle, and they sent a request to Seattle and they responded with the 'this will be resolved within 90 days' standard issue letter.

At the time of writing this my online status with the homeland security web page still says CASE RECEIVED AND PENDING so they have not updated that yet.

Maybe it was because when I entered the USA there were millions of immigrants that year, or perhaps I just fell through a crack in the system and was totally forgotten about. Also at a guess 2003 was close to 911 2001 and the whols system had been revamped and it was just a immigration numbers issue. Course they might have just thought I was a dodgy character and worth watching for several years ya know the great sausage bandit of old!!

If anyone can shed a little light on this I would be interested to hear your opinion.

Thanks for the congratulations I know you dont know me but many thanks.

Cheers
