M&J, simple answer is u dont know. u sit and wait. what USCIS updates on site is a joke, the touches on yr case dont mean anything, u simply sit and wait. get hope sometimes when u see someone with timeleine close to yrs get appoved, get frustrated when u see someone who filed later gets aproved, get scarred when u see others waiting since 2007. there is no rule. just faith in yr luck.

Ok. Thanks for the advice and here's hoping that VSC starts processing petitions quicker than they are doing currently.

Hey everyone,

I had a question about something that doesn't retain to the topic above, but it was something I was confused about. On the processing timelines at the USCIS website, how do you accurately determine when your petition will be approved? For instance, if it says 6 months...does that mean 6 months from when you filed your petition it will be done or does that mean that 6 months from the post it will be done? I'm just a little confused by the whole thing. The I-129F changed from saying 6 months (last month) to March 7, 2008 (November 18, 2008) and I know when it shows a date that is worse then if it says 6 months, but if it says March 7, 2008 (like it shows as of November 18, 2008) and last month it said 6 months then how do you determine from that change when your petition will be done? Is it that they are doing March filers now and that you have to wait 6 months from that time or is it more or less or something totally different from that?

Thanks for the help,

M+J

It is a waiting game! It really is the worst thing ever!
