Hello VJers,

I just spoke with officer at VSC and officer told me that they are working on NOV 07 cases for I-130. I wanted to ask her by back to NOV 07 when there sites say FEB 26, 08 but by the time I do, she just hung up on me. This is so frustrating every month more bad news comes out of VSC.

i just got off the phone also with VSC and i was told the same, Nov 07. to this i asked "but your website says Feb 08", then the officer corrected herself and said, "i am sorry, feb 08"

i dont know if she just pacified me or it is really feb 08 and not Nov 07, *mystery*

It has to be Feb 08. Lots of people who filed in Feb were approved on this board. They probably do have some from Nov 07...the poor people who keep getting the run around, or who are facing extra security checks, or who USCIS lost their applications, and what not... but I think Feb 08 is more valid.

Hey everybody, just as a reminder. Do not take what one individual VSC rep says to you too seriously, whether it is good or bad - their primary job is to get you off the phone as quickly as possible, and the easiest way for them to do that is to say something that will leave your mouth wide open. I have received the same lines from them that you all have, in addition to "we're processing march" and "we should be well into april quite soon", all within the last 3 weeks. You have to take what one individual officer says up there with a grain of salt, VSC does not want us calling up there, I even had one agent last week tell me "we have no ability to see your case on our computers up here, call back to the national help-line". RIIIGHT...

What they tell you is no reason to get either overly excited or depressed, because most of it is either BS spewed out of ignorance by them, or outright lies, because they cannot be held accountable by us.

I think we all got the same vsc agent. I was told november 07 as well, but when I corrected her, she acknowledged feb 08. I agree with CJ G. They want us off the phone asap.

Yes, they just want us off the phone. Don't take their word into consideration.

Apparently, you should ask for a level 2 support when you call VSC as they are the only people who actually know something. I heard this on the K1 forum. Haven't tried calling them myself yet. has anyone tried asking for them?

frali, can you please try calling VSC today and see what they have to say? thanks!

Hey everyone,

I had a question about something that doesn't retain to the topic above, but it was something I was confused about. On the processing timelines at the USCIS website, how do you accurately determine when your petition will be approved? For instance, if it says 6 months...does that mean 6 months from when you filed your petition it will be done or does that mean that 6 months from the post it will be done? I'm just a little confused by the whole thing. The I-129F changed from saying 6 months (last month) to March 7, 2008 (November 18, 2008) and I know when it shows a date that is worse then if it says 6 months, but if it says March 7, 2008 (like it shows as of November 18, 2008) and last month it said 6 months then how do you determine from that change when your petition will be done? Is it that they are doing March filers now and that you have to wait 6 months from that time or is it more or less or something totally different from that?

Thanks for the help,

M+J
