Proof of Ex Spouse Residence

Chuck and Kim asked me to upload what I used for the HCMC Consulate's request for proof of my ex wife's residence. My ex did not cooperate and I did not have any regular mail with her return address, nor anything else. She did not own her home at the time. The only thing that I had was our divorce decree.

I did draft a letter for her to sign and I have included it here along with my letter that I had notarized. It must have worked as my wife got her pink slip.

A couple of thoughts about this situation. I did have an attorney send a registered letter, return receipt requested to my ex. But it wasn't signed by her. So that did not work for me. It's probably a good idea, but if you do it, don't do it right after you have talked with your ex about this. Chances are they will figure it out.

Also, if your ex owns their home, then you can go to the property tax records to show that house is owned by them. That should help to prove residency.

I hope this helps.

EXCELLENT! THANK YOU ANH MAP! We all appreciate this very much.

After your divorce was final, how soon did you file the I-129f?

(I probably already asked you this, if I did, sorry about that!)

I didn't realize your ex-wife was Vietnamese. That may have been what the hubbub was about. I have never been so happy as I am right now about having a NON Vietnamese ex-huband. hahaha

THANKS FOR POSTING

my ex also would not cooperate. She didn't return my emails or phone calls. I was able to get a hold of her brother who is a lawyer and he wrote a letter for me with all the information that they asked for. I hope that satisfies them. I also did a background check. I'm praying that it will be enough evidence.
