Hi all!

i have couple of questions to ask :help: i filed AOS and EAD together but the check for EAD was returned back( a rejection notice alongwith NOA for AOS application). since i was filing both the petitions together, i wasnt supposed to send the fee for biometrics for both. so i applied again for the EAD with fee $180. after that i got the NOA 1 for EAD and biometrics appointment for AOS. today biometrics is done. it went well. now here my question is since i got the biometrics appointment for I-864 only. will i have biometrics appointment for EAD again? i am kinda confused at the moment. just want to know if anyone had gone through the same situation. any suggestions? another thing how do u guys know when ur case is "touched"? do u see ur status changed online???....

thanks for any help in advance.

Good Luck to ALL :)

Hi don't worry it does get a little confusing at time's. The answer to your question is 'No' you will not need Bio's done for the EAD, I beleive that now you just wait for the EAD card to be posted to you in the mail. You know when you have been touched when you receive your NOA's or i guess if you receive confirmation in Email or online.

Hope this helped

Did you take the NOA 1 for the EAD with you? and did they stamp it and take the biometrics for it. Even if you are in one appointment I think it is two seperate procedures and computer entries.

No it is one entry - they just fill out what you are applying for on the computer screen and then take fingerprints - these fingerprints are good for both applications provided both case numbers have been entered into the computer at the time of biometrics.

U're all wrong to say the biometrics for EAD was combined with that the AOS. Definately U will be having EAD biometrics very soon. Look out for it and U will have to go back and do this again. They are seperately and even when some people get both the EAD and AOS biometrics letter on the same day, they are done seperately cos they have to enter each reciept number by placing the electronic device on the part of the application that brings ur information out and tells what the case us all about before they take ur picture and finger print into ur case. In the EAD biometrics, they will only have a fingerprint of urs.

We got two separate NOA's and had to go to the ASC twice in two weeks.

First was for the EAD -- they only took him "pointer" finger. Then we went back with the NOA for the AOS -- they took all ten of his fingers.

For most people it is combined.....

I am not sure this is necessarily correct. When I had my first biometrics taken it was done for the AOS and that is what the appointment letter said. I only had one biometrics appointment, but I received the EAD about 10 days after the biometrics. (My 2nd biometrics was the following year when I had to renew my EAD). The only thing I am not sure about in your case is because you have two separate filing dates for AOS and EAD you may require two appointments - that might make the difference.

I'm lost...But, if you have 2 scheduled biometrics you can go to the 2nd biometrics skip the first one and get both done at the same time. This makes the biometrics person say something under their breath, but they will do it anyway. Get both notices stamped or signed by the officer though.

i just wonder if they are going to schedule 2nd appoinment as i have paid for one biometrics only. Do they charge for one biomatrics but schedule two separate appointments for AOS and EAD?...

anyways in my case i guess i should be cool and calm and wait for the next steps. i appreciate ur help.you guys are great!!

I think.......

If you get the Bio's done for the AOS first "they" can use that for the EAD also. That's because for the AOS they do all your fingers.

If you have the EAD first (like we did) -- they only do the "pointer" and you will have to go back for the AOS.

.....just a random thought.
