My Daughter sent me this ad she saw.

I guess this would be normal if we lived out on the Left-coast, but here in Charlotte it seems a little kooky.

----------------------

Dad- as i was searching for jobs i came across this ad. I though you might get a kick out of it.

Love, Jennifer

Description

4 month old triplets born at 29 weeks seeking a loving, patient nanny with experience caring for multiple infants. Nanny should have experience with special needs, as one baby is on a feeding tube at this time. * * FAMILY IS FULLY ORGANIC AND "GREEN." A NANNY WHO SHARES KNOWLEDGE OF THIS LIFE STYLE WOULD BE A GREAT FIT. * * This includes no plastics or chemicals in the home - all baby toys are natural wooden or organic cloth. Nanny must be experienced, patient, nutruring and not mind the "stationary" aspect of caring for premature infants in the cold and flu season, as the babies ARE NOT allowed to go to public places. Walks around the neighborhood are fully encouraged! Position offers a competative salary of $14 - $17 per hour, with a guarantee of 45 hours per week. Paid vacation and sick leave, performance bonuses for exceptional work with the babies and continued pay while the family is away are offered. In addition, family is offering paid yoga and meditation classes to the nanny at the location of the nanny's choice for stress reduction. Assistance with health insurance premiums will be offered. Nanny must have a minimum BA/BS degree, be a strict non-smoker and abide by an organic life style while in the family's home (prefer a nanny who shares organic philosophies!) and have a clean criminal and DMV record check. Exceptional references along with 2-5 years of nanny experience with multiple infants is necessary. Nanny must speak, read and write fluent english and be legally in the US. Seeking someone who can work long term - at least the next 5 years. Interested applicants, please apply at www.APerfectNanny.com for immediate consideration.

Do we have any hard-core Organic VJers in the house?

I would not want the job, but it seems to pay reasonably well for a young person with a lot of patience.

$41K + bonus potential

Vacation

Sick leave

Assistance with health insurance

+ additional free vacation when the family is away, which will hopefully be most of the time.....

I agree. Right now that would be a sweet job. In a few years, not so much. But better than my husband's making right now. I can be a granola nut job for sick leave, vacation and health insurance!

I'm not an organic fruitcake but I have as many things as possible that are organic

Agreed.

It sounds like a sweet job for someone young and single who wants to be a nanny. Why would someone "get a kick out of it"? I mean, at least these people are not willing to compromise their values and they want the best for their children.

Why do I see these kids getting sicker? They're probably being raised in a sterile environment and have no real contact with the outside world. Whatever.

Hey we all have different things we find important in our lives so while I might poke a little fun.....

I hope you don't think I was Mocking.

So do you buy all those items like, Organic eggs and milk etc?

if so, I bet your grocery bill is like at least 20% more?

One time on an "impulse buy", I bought Newmans own oreo-style cookies thinking they were really gonna be tasty..... due to all those organic ingredients.

I was very disappointed especially after they were like, a buck more than the real thing.

Do you find Organic stuff taste better... or you just like the Health consideration?

For me I don't think all organic products taste better BUT if you eat as strictly organic as possible for a few months and then try eating non-organic you will most definitely see a change not only in your digestive system but also in how you feel overall. It's amazing how accustomed our bodies have become to all of the chemicals in our food.

I'm trying to figure out what is so odd...

Parents are looking for an experienced nanny who shares their philosophy or at least will abide by it while staying in their home. Wouldn't any parent? They don't want their babies exposed to plastics. So what? They want someone educated...OHHHH...and LEGAL. I'd have thought that would be a postitive.

I know quite a few people in Germany who try to not accumulate tons of plastic toys and other ####### for their kids - nothing weird or odd about it in my opinion. Especially people with kids should be interested in a sustainable lifestyle, they have kids to inherit the planet after all. Sadly, most of the time it's exactly those people who couldn't care less about our environment.

These people seem to be the VERY strict sort - I agree. But the job itself sounds kinda interestering, I think.

O.k., I'm officially a nutcase now too... my husband will love that.
