Sweet Confusion... I thought this part of the process was supposed to be easy...

I called the NVC line and it just kept telling me that they have no record of our case. So I finally waited patiently... twice because the first time it hung up on me! When the operator answered, she was quite rude to me. Apparently the system isn't working tonight and she told me I should be able to check my case online... well I don't know how to do that. So I logged back into the fee website and this is what it says:

Sign In Failed

Please be advised that the case that you have attempted to access is not eligible for further processing by the National Visa Center at this time. Please click on the Contact the NVC hyperlink if you believe that you have received this message in error.

Has anyone else ever gotten this message? What does it mean??

You need to call them again. If the system itself said that it couldn't find you, it's probably because of their system problems.

I see that your case was completed yesterday. Maybe your case was forwarded to Kingston. After it is forwarded to Kingston, the NVC no longer has info on your file and you have to direct all your questions to Kingston or the DC office.

Thanks Claire. I had called again on the 18th and they told me that my case was completed. Is there anywhere I can go to see a rough length of time before the interview?

depends on the amt scheduled at the embasy, nvc will do their scheduleing the first two weeks of each month if approved on 18 i would ck in once in while maybe you got in close to the cut off and they can tell u something
