Us. :P I was sending an email to all the members of the site (Reminder to Update VJ Timelines) and it is slowing things down a bit. At least I think that is the issue. It should be done emailing people in the next hour or so I hope. Needless to say I am watching the server right now closely. Has this been all day? According to the logs things got a little slower 9AM EST or so.

I should note, the main issue is that Yahoo Bounces emails on the first delivery attempt and then delays delivery on almost all emails. This is true for everyone. Yahoo assumes that legitimate email senders will resend the email (the server does this automatically) when delivery on the first try fails. While this is true (spammers do not resend) it also causes delayed emails for yahoo members and other issues. I strongly recommend people do not use yahoo and instead use live/hotmail/gmail services.

Pretty much ever since I got my timeline email this morning.

You should know better than that! HOW many emails is that poor server trying to send?

October 31, 2016 I-130 sent to Chicago Lockbox

November 4, 2016 Received text case sent to Nebraska

November 10, 2016 Received Hard copy of NOA1

Is that all? :P

You should get an old Sparc running Solaris, set it up at home as an SMTP/POP server, and send them that way.

But yeah..... it's been REALLY slow for the past hour or so.

Only a thousand or so people left to send to. I will keep everyone posted here. Please let me know on speed updates on your end too :). The sending process for this many people takes 14 hours or so since I limit the number of emails per minute to take stress off the server (clearly need to chose less next time).

Yeah. I should do that. One of the things people commented to me about was that members that had not been here in a while had timelines that could be updated (left some dates off). This email was the type that I usually send once a year to get our veterans to come back and update their timeline at the end of their journey :).

Complete. There are several hundred emails in the mail queue for Yahoo that may take a while to get through... rant: Again Yahoo really has some issues...
