So long as the co-sponsor has sufficient annual income and assets of some value, there is no problem. Co-sponsors are not an issue with the embassies...just their ability to support you and your husband if necessary.

Are there any restriction about a co sponsor be a retired person ?They look at income - as in the amount - and number of people in the household.

The only reason I could see is if the co-sponsor does not have enough income; or if the forms are incomplete (i.e. you send only an I-864 when you also needed an I-864A). It's important you read the forms carefully.

But no worries about she being a retiree -- jut make sure income is over the line and that she counts all members of her household (other kids, etc.)>
