So, some times we post on here all day without ever knowing anything too personal about each other. And of course, some of us have more personal relationships with certain members than others.

I wanted to make a thread for any one who is an artist. I was a very active person in the writing community in ottawa, ontario, helping to publish a literary magazine called In/Words. But I was also very dedicated in school, working with a few other students, on the Canadian writing post-post modernist movement and what Can Lit has to offer the world.

I finally started a blog to put down some of my scribbles. http://amandadeo.blogspot.com. Do any of you have writing journals, music, etc. experiences to share? I would just really like to hear them. When I moved I lost my entire poetry world which was really hard for me. I'm just starting to gain it back with the help of a few people and of course, myself.

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

I am a musician.. sing and play keys and write..

I also have put the creative side of my life on hold. moving to a new area will do that to you - so few people knew me when I moved, and knew what I was talented at... I just started to play publicly again, but haven't got back the *spark for writing again- that takes time and creative energy I'm afraid.. bah!

Does Karaoke count? Before I got together with BB, I could tell you 3 different bars on each night of the week where it was and which shows were better. I love going out and singing and wish the Karaoke scene in Columbus was half as good here as it is in Toronto. Apparently I'm pretty good too :P My specialties? 80's and 90's tunes you'd completely forgotten about :P

 Interesting!

I'm also a musician myself, playing piano, guitar and vocal. I went to an Arts highschool that I had to audition to get into. It was a lot of fun.

Jednite-I am glad I am reminding you to write more. I used to write every day and actually published a book of poetry, a tiny one, on my experiences going back from Canada to the US. But if you love to write, write!! It's taken me about 2 years to get back into the swing of things and it has not been easy.

I'm not a Candian, but I'm close :)

I write short stories, essays, and poetry. I also teach Creative Writing. Since I left Louisiana and I started teaching high school I write much less. I should make time.

My son and daughter both sing. My husband plays bass and accordion and both kids play around on the piano.

I'm a dramoid and used get involved with the local theatre when I lived in Canada, and I love to paint and draw as well. I still paint and draw and stuff but I haven't done anything with acting since I moved here. My husband and friends are always telling me that I should go do comedy at small clubs in Philadelphia but I am nervous.

Im an "ect"

I paint and sketch

"you fondle my trigger then you blame my gun"

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!
